The sad story of Jessie and D'Lila, P. Diddy's twin daughters

By

The trial against P. Diddy is almost over and has reached an emotional climax for everyone involved. This week, P. Diddy's twin daughters, D’Lila and Jessie, left the courtroom in tears where their father is charged with sexual assault, abuse, and rape – with some of the victims being minors at the time of the alleged crimes.

Support for P. Diddy

Despite the front pages and websites being filled with the terrible things their father is alleged to have done, their love for him cannot be broken down. On June 16, they posted a message on their joint Instagram account – Combs Twins has 783 thousand followers – where they praised their father:

Happy Father’s Day to the best dad in the entire world. We love you so much, words can’t even explain. You’ve always been there for us whenever we needed you no matter what. Through thick and thin. We appreciate everything you’ve done for us and we couldn’t ask for a better dad. The bond we have is inseparable and unplacable. We are so blessed to be given a dad as great as you are. We love and miss you so so much.

Note: ”unplacable” seems to be a typo in their post, they probably meant ”irreplaceable”.

Cocaine on the children's clothes

For Diddy, this has surely been a welcome support in the storm of accusations, but it is still remarkable. The former nanny of the girls, Dawn Drago, claimed back in 2013 that the girls did not receive the care they needed. Their mother, Kim Porter, reportedly smoked marijuana regularly in their presence and drugs were said to have been used openly in the home. The girls once found a bag of cocaine in the back seat – something their mother Kim dismissed as ”medicine” – and at one point, there was even cocaine on their clothes when they were at daycare.

Dad in prison, mom in heaven

Overall, the girls have not had an easy life. Five months before their birth, their father, P. Diddy, had a daughter, Chance, with businesswoman Sarah Chapman. When the twins were twelve years old, their mother died, a grief they say they still struggle with every day.

Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother. She was our world and nothing has been the same since she passed,

the girls wrote on Instagram on September 25 in a plea not to tarnish their mother's memory with pain and, according to them, falsehoods.

Graduate without their parents

Then came the day when one normally throws the graduation cap in the air and celebrates their graduation with pride. There stood Jessie and D’Lila. Without mom, without dad. One dead, the other incarcerated. The verdict is expected in October this year. Until then, the girls are left in solitude.

How is P. Diddy doing now?

To get a clear overview, here is the status right now:

  • Verdict: Convicted on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution, with a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
  • Acquitted: Acquitted of charges of human trafficking and conspiracy to form a criminal organization.
  • Lawsuits: In addition to the criminal case, over 120 civil lawsuits are ongoing against Combs, where he is accused of sexual assault, abuse, and rape – in some cases against minors.
  • Detention: Combs remains detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled for October 2025.
