The sad story of Jessie and D’Lila, the twins of P. Diddy

By

The trial against P. Diddy is about to conclude and has reached a peak and emotional point for everyone involved. This week, P. Diddy's twin daughters, D’Lila and Jessie, left the courtroom in tears as their father faces charges of sexual abuse, mistreatment, and rape, some of which involved minors at the time of the alleged incidents.

Support for P. Diddy

Despite the headlines and websites being filled with the terrible things their father allegedly did, their love for him remains intact. On June 16, they shared a post on their joint Instagram account — the Combs Twins have 783 thousand followers — in which they dedicated a message of love to their father:

Happy Father’s Day to the best dad in the entire world. We love you so much, words can’t even explain. You’ve always been there for us whenever we needed you no matter what. Through thick and thin. We appreciate everything you’ve done for us and we couldn’t ask for a better dad. The bond we have is inseparable and unplacable. We are so blessed to be given a dad as great as you are. We love and miss you so so much.

Note: “unplacable” seems to be a typo in their post, they probably meant to say “irreplaceable”.

Cocaine in the girls' clothes

For Diddy, this support must have been a relief amidst all the attacks, but it remains a striking fact. The twins“ former nanny, Dawn Drago, claimed in 2013 that the girls were not receiving proper care. According to her, their mother, Kim Porter, regularly smoked marijuana in their presence and drug use at home was common. On one occasion, the girls found a bag of cocaine in the back seat of the car, which their mother Kim dismissed by saying it was ”medicine,” and once they even found traces of cocaine on their clothes while at daycare.

Dad in prison, mom in heaven

The twins' lives have never been easy. Five months before their birth, their father, P. Diddy, had another daughter, Chance, with entrepreneur Sarah Chapman. When the twins were twelve years old, their mother passed away, a pain they reportedly still struggle with every day.

Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother. She was our world and nothing has been the same since she passed,

the girls wrote on September 25 on Instagram, in a call not to tarnish their mother's name with pain and, according to them, lies.

Graduating without their parents

The day came when you would normally throw your cap in the air with pride to celebrate your graduation. And there were Jessie and D’Lila. Without mother, without father. One deceased, the other in pre-trial detention. Sentencing is expected to be handed down in October of this year. For now, the girls remain alone.

What is P. Diddy's current situation?

To have a clear view of the situation, here is a summary:

  • Conviction: Found guilty of two counts of transporting persons for prostitution purposes, with a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
  • Acquittal: Found not guilty of human trafficking charges and conspiracy to form a criminal organization.
  • Lawsuits: In addition to the criminal proceedings, there are over 120 civil lawsuits against Combs, accusing him of sexual abuse, mistreatment, and rape, in some cases involving underage victims.
  • Detention: Combs remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting his sentencing, scheduled for October 2025.
