The sad story of Jessie and D’Lila, the twins of P. Diddy

By

The trial against P. Diddy is nearing its conclusion and is reaching an emotional climax for all involved. This week, P. Diddy's twin daughters, D'Lila and Jessie, left the courtroom in tears, where their father is charged with sexual abuse, assault, and rape – with some victims being minors at the time of the alleged acts.

Support for P. Diddy

Despite the headlines and reports about the terrible things their father is allegedly accused of, their love for him is unwavering. On June 16, they even posted on their shared Instagram account – the Combs Twins have 783,000 followers – a declaration of love for their father:

Happy Father’s Day to the best dad in the entire world. We love you so much, words can’t even explain. You’ve always been there for us whenever we needed you no matter what. Through thick and thin. We appreciate everything you’ve done for us and we couldn’t ask for a better dad. The bond we have is inseparable and unplacable. We are so blessed to be given a dad as great as you are. We love and miss you so so much.

Note: „unplacable“ seems to be a typo and was probably meant to be „irreplaceable“.

Cocaine on the children's clothing

For Diddy, this support amidst all the hostility must have been a welcome support, yet it is remarkable. The girls„ former nanny, Dawn Drago, claimed back in 2013 that the twins were not adequately cared for. Their mother, Kim Porter, reportedly smoked marijuana regularly in the presence of the girls, and drugs were otherwise easily accessible in the household. The girls once found a bag of cocaine in the back seat – which their mother Kim dismissed as “medicine” – and once there was even cocaine on their clothing when they were taken to daycare.

Dad in prison, mom in heaven

The girls certainly did not have an easy life. Five months before their birth, their father, P. Diddy, had a daughter named Chance with businesswoman Sarah Chapman. When the twins were twelve years old, their mother passed away – a loss they claim to still struggle with daily.

Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother. She was our world and nothing has been the same since she passed,

the girls wrote on Instagram on September 25 in an appeal not to associate their mother's name with pain and, from their perspective, untruths.

Graduation without their parents

Then came the day when one normally proudly celebrates graduation and throws the cap in the air. But there stood Jessie and D’Lila. Without mother, without father. One deceased, the other in pre-trial detention. The verdict is expected in October of this year, until then the girls are left alone for now.

What is the current status of P. Diddy?

To keep track, here is a brief summary:

  • Conviction: Guilty on two counts of promoting persons to prostitution, with a possible maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
  • Acquittal: Not guilty on the charges of human trafficking and conspiracy to form a criminal organization.
  • Additional charges: In addition to the criminal proceedings, over 120 civil lawsuits are pending against Combs, in which he is accused of sexual abuse, assault, and rape – partly involving minor victims.
  • Detention: Combs remains in pre-trial detention at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting the verdict, which is scheduled for October 2025.
