A bit about Jessie Jazz and Kaj Gorgels

SHE SAID YES!!!! Jessie Jazz Vuijk and Kaj Gorgels are engaged. And that news came, as it should for this picture perfect couple, of course via Instagram. On Wednesday, May 28, enchanting photos appeared on their feeds, and since then we can only think of one thing: how romantic can you make it?
The engagement took place in a sunny Scottish landscape among the mountains, with white horses casually wandering around as if it were the most normal thing in the world – just like a movie. Add a picnic table, Jessie in a white dress with a soft floral print, Kaj in a suit with a flat cap and you know it: all of the Netherlands was melting away.
What the two are known for
And we start with Kaj Gorgels (34): He started his career on YouTube with Kaj’s Typetjes and quickly conquered the internet with his dry humor. He is now an integral part of Dutch TV and podcasts. From his theater show Effe relativeren to the popular podcast Geuze & Gorgels (listen here), Kaj has reinvented himself time and again. In 2018, Kaj started a relationship with Jessie Jazz Vuijk.
What is Jessy Jazz (30) known for? Well, for quite a few things. Jessie was crowned Miss Netherlands in 2015 — and no, that’s not just a sash over your shoulder. She represented the Netherlands at the Miss Universe pageant and modeled all over the world (think: Bali to Paris vibes). She ventured into the jungle in 2016 during Expeditie Robinson and literally fought her way to victory in Boxing Stars (yes, really won): Helloooo? what a cool TV debut this is. And as if that wasn’t enough: Jessie is now also a YouTuber and Ibiza mom with flair.
The dream couple
The two beauties announced their relationship in 2018 and five years later, in October 2023, they welcomed their first son: Xavier. And that family happiness? It has stuck around. The two met through a mutual friend. And yes, that was Holly Mae Brood (a real matchmaker then). During their first meeting, they talked extensively about Expeditie Robinson — Jessie had just participated in the program, while Kaj was preparing for his participation. At first, Kaj was heavily friend-zoned by Jessie, but after the friendship stuck around, a crush developed and their bond grew into a relationship. Read more here on RTL Boulevard about their first meeting.
Love in Ibiza, a proposal in Scotland
The two now live together in Ibiza, where Jessie often shares how happy she is with her men around her. They live in their villa called Casa Flore, located in the north of Ibiza, in the region of Santa Eulària des Riu. This traditional finca has been completely renovated to their taste and is sometimes rented out under the name Casa Flore.

The dreamy proposal
For the proposal, they traded the island vibes for the rugged, romantic backdrop of Scotland. Kaj chose the perfect moment to go down on one knee – literally between the mountains, with a picnic table full of goodies, a setting sun, and of course: horses. Seriously, who has horses wandering around at their proposal? Read here about the three most fun proposals.
The dress, the flat cap, the setting: fashion alert
We need to talk about the clothing. Jessie in a long, white dress with a subtle floral print. Loose beachy waves, natural glow, no hysterical styling but just right. Kaj next to her in a light suit, combined with a flat cap à la Peaky Blinders, but then on the romantic tour. The vibe? Outlander meets Pinterest dream wedding. The images have now been liked almost 70,000 times and honestly, we are not surprised.
Family Gorgels
Their son Xavier (1) is already stealing the show on Instagram. And honestly: that face! Jessie occasionally shares a glimpse of their family life in Ibiza, and it mainly looks like sun, sand, sea, and a whole lot of love.
We now know that Ibiza is their place, but Kaj also honors his roots as evidenced by his plans for Rotterdam: at the end of 2024, he will open his first hospitality business there, Drippy’s. Everything he touches turns to gold. Except, maybe, his attempts at cooking at home – but that stays between him and Jessie.

4x what we can learn from Jessie & Kaj
- You can dream of a horse-in-mountainous-Scotland proposal.
- Flat caps are totally a thing again (as long as you combine them well).
- Love doesn’t have to be perfect, as long as it’s real.
- And: life is a lot more fun with a man with humor by your side. This is why we often find funny people more attractive.
