The chain belt is back in business and here's how to style it
Say 'pants chain' and you might immediately picture a kind of skater boy, with oversized pants and a wallet dangling from a silver chain. But guess what: the pants chain is back – and this time not just among the punks, but perhaps even more with the fashion crowd. Nice girly, colorful, and totally autumn-proof. And it looks great. At least, if you ask us, that is. And especially in one of the ways below:
The phone strap hack
That cheerful bead necklace that normally hangs from your phone? Just clip it onto one of the loops of your jeans. This way, you have a playful and stylish detail that completes your outfit just a little bit more. My personal favorite is the one from Shop Ateljé. A second life for your chain
Do you have a chunky chain lying around? Attach it to the side of your pants and let it sway nonchalantly. Bonus points if you combine it with a fitted top and oversized blazer: classy, but with a wink.
And last but not least…
The pants chain works best when it doesn't feel too forced. So mix & match: a bead strap with your jeans, a gold chain with wide trousers. The more unexpected, the better. In short: the pants chain is not a blast from the past, but the accessory that makes your outfit just a bit more exciting this season.
