These are the nicest pumpkin farms in the Netherlands

Do you want to enjoy all the autumn madness for a bit longer? Dancing in orange leaves? Taking home big pumpkins that you ultimately won't make soup from? Yes, you can. And you don't even have to go to America for that. Those pumpkin farms are right here in our clogs country. Curious? Let me tell you where you can still find these autumn vibes.

And yes: you don't just do this in Amsterdam. In all corners of the country, you have pumpkin farms.

North Brabant

1. Pumpkin Farm Best (Best)

Are you into the Spooky Season? Then the Pumpkin Farm Best is for you. Completely decorated in Halloween theme, you can breathe in the fresh air here and enjoy all kinds of different pumpkins: from big orange to small beige – it's all there. You can hollow out pumpkins, make (and buy) autumn arrangements, and of course take photos with pumpkins.

2. Pick Your Own Garden Amstelveen (Amstelveen)

Pumpkin Month is celebrated well at the Pick Your Own Garden Amstelveen. From tasting real American pumpkin pie to hollowing out pumpkins: here you can fully immerse yourself in the autumn atmosphere. Score your own pumpkin and enjoy the creative craftsmanship. Be quick, though, because pumpkins don't stay good forever. Isn't this just too fun? And for only €24, you get the workshop plus snacks and drinks before and after all that crafting.

🎃PUMPKIN WORKSHOP🎃 It can't get more autumnal than this. Just a short half-hour drive from Amsterdam!!🚗 And of course with a culinary twist. Because that pumpkin pie is super delicious!!🥧 Besides, the workshop was for both young and old, win-win!! Despite the contact we had, only our reservation didn't come through properly. Luckily, we could also hang up the decorations ourselves.😙 But be warned.😆 Costs💶: €24.95 p.p. for a pumpkin workshop with before and after snack + drinks 📍@pluktuinamstelveen, Amsteldijk Zuid 183b, 1188 VN Amstelveen #nospon #smikkelie #autumnout #pumpkinworkshop #pumpkinpie #amstelveen #pickyourown

3. Pumpkin Farm Onderdijk (Wevershoof)

Are you with the kids? Then this is a very cozy outing. Pet goats and marvel at all the decorations in Halloween theme. Oh, and there's plenty of toys to keep those little ones entertained. And yes, it's fun even without kids. As soon as you arrive here, you'll see carts full of colorful pumpkins – small ones, big ones, the whole shebang. And have you seen those cute autumn arrangements? I want those in my house.

4. Vegetable Garden Poelen (Groesbeek)

You've just missed the picking days, but the pumpkin shop is still open. Enjoy the beautiful view while you grab the very last pumpkins of the season. Sit at the picnic tables and read a book while the kids play on the trampoline. Try lifting the biggest pumpkin or take some aesthetic Pinterest photos. You can do it all in Groesbeek.

Isn't this amazing 🎃🤍

5. Pumpkin Farm Ederveen (Ederveen)

At this family business, you can score pumpkins fresh from the field. In my opinion, this is one of the nicest spots. Definitely the prettiest. You can tell, because it is a real photo hotspot. Here you take those photos that make people think you've been to a pumpkin farm in Canada. Whether you choose the barn covered in leaves or the large bins filled with all kinds of pumpkins. Here you create the most beautiful picture. Oh, and of course you can shop for pumpkins. And jump on a trampoline.

6. The Pumpkin Barn (Kiel-Windeweer)

Another fun pumpkin spot – and this one is in a barn. If this doesn't give you a moody autumn vibe, then I don't know what will. With those fairy lights and dark wooden crates full of colorful pumpkins. They have decorative and edible pumpkins. So there's no excuse anymore: that soup you've been wanting to make for ages but keep postponing, you should make it now. The weather is perfect for it. Want to bring your dog? You can do that here too. Just as fun.

7. Monique’s pumpkin factory (Lisse)

Next to a large flower picking garden, owner Monique has a passion for pumpkins. For ‘large, small, orange, white, green, gray or salmon pink’, as she puts it. Every September, she and her family harvest pumpkins from the field. They return to her garden during the harvest festival, where you can try all kinds of pumpkin treats. It's self-service, so feel free to look around, even if no one is home. And remember: this is not a wholesale, so when it's gone, it's gone. You can tell, because people: unfortunately have already raided the entire stock, including the pumpkin pancakes and cookies. Still, I think this beautiful garden deserves a spot on this list. Please put down the pitchforks; I mean well. So write this down for next year, because these people are a-ma-zing. You can see that from the fun ghost photoshoot they did a week ago.

8. Pumpkins Drenthe (Erica)

Yes, you can also go to a pumpkin farm in Drenthe. This time at Farm Erica, where they sell under the name ‘Pumpkins Drenthe’. Here you can't pick pumpkins, but you can buy them. And of course take nice photos.

9. Pure from the Land (Bunnik)

Just a fifteen-minute drive from the center lies this pumpkin farm just outside the city. So you don't have to travel for hours to hold a pumpkin, no really not. Here you can go pumpkin hunting. Choose gourds (or different types of pumpkins), buy fresh vegetables for your autumn recipes, and feel like a kid again. Because who wouldn't want to take a picture with such a big pumpkin? Or pet bunnies? I certainly would. If you bring your nephew, niece, or child, there's plenty to do for them too: like playing on the big tractor, running around in the playground, and jumping on the trampoline.

Limburg

10. De leropper Tuin (Roerdal)

Just below Roermond lies this nursery that specializes in growing pumpkins. They are displayed in crates each season, so you can choose which one you think is the prettiest. Want to do more than just touch pumpkins? Then you can take flower arrangement workshops. This can be done with a group of six or more (unfortunately not with less). For €35 you get a flower arrangement, coffee, and something sweet.

Flevoland

11. Pompoenboertje (Almere)

Want a show? Then you have to go to the Pompoenboertje. Here Halloween really comes to life. From an old broken car covered in pumpkins to skeletons: this spooky place is too fun not to visit. And those big orange things are not expensive at all: you can get them from €2. That's nothing, right? A drink at Starbucks is even more expensive. They previously had the pumpkin festival, which has now been replaced by the spooky route, where you walk through a homemade haunted house in complete darkness. I'm already getting the creeps just thinking about it. Can you see yourself walking there?

@wewashalmere

🎃✨ Looking for the ultimate autumn outing? On October 12, we will take you into the world of pumpkins in Almere! 🍂👨‍🌾 Meet the pumpkin farmer, discover the activities, and choose your perfect pumpkin – big or small. 🧡 📍 Carwash WeWash 📅 October 12 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Fun for young & old Will you be there? 🍁👇 #WeWash #Pumpkinfarm #HerfstInAlmere #Pumpkinsfeest #familyouting

12. Gerbens Pompoenenschuur (Bornebroek)

Or you just go to Bornebroek, near Enschede. Here the young Gerben grows his own pumpkins. He was already running his pumpkin business when he was still a gardening student. Unbelievable. He has been doing this since he was ten. He now washes every pumpkin by hand. Just like in many places on this list, there is a huge autumn atmosphere here due to all those warm colors and that decor. Is this the ‘cutest autumn spot’, as one visitor said? I want to try that out.

13. Pompoenerie Wezep (Wezep)

Want to see super big pumpkins? At the Pompoenerie in Wezep, they have one that weighs more than 700 kilograms. Yes, you read that right: seven hundred. This is such a fun outing for the cold autumn days. That house alone is beautiful; with those authentic casement windows and flower boxes above the windows. And then also a covered wagon? Yes, just pick me up. I'm there.
