There are Easter eggs again, people

Nasi goreng flavor, anyone?

By

You know, in the Netherlands we are quite quick to put candy on the shelves that belongs to a certain holiday. When you come back from summer vacation, the pepernoten are already smiling at you, and once those are cleared away, the Easter eggs fill the empty spots on the shelves. Not a problem, because we love chocolate, so we also love Easter eggs. So far, no complaints from my side.

Everything is savory

But the savory trend that is on the rise – I already wrote about coffee with avocado flavor – is spreading. Even in places where you would rather not see it. Okay, salty and sweet is a divine combination, but with salted caramel, it stops for me. At Jamin, I think they served truffle mushrooms during the brainstorming session, because the flavors of their Easter eggs are, to put it mildly, quite special.

Pornstar Martini Easter egg

An Easter egg in the flavor of Pornstar Martini seems fun to me, just like the apple pie milk variant. I would love to try that. But they go further. Apparently, there was already an Easter egg in the flavor of pizza, and now they have cheerfully built on that. So there is the flavor of pepper and salt, gingerbread, baklava, and even nasi goreng.

Mushroom truffle Easter egg?

I tasted them, and they are... awful. So awful that you wonder: why? Why? But I really know. It was discussed at Beau's table, it’s going viral on TikTok, and now I’m writing about it again. It’s marketing at its best.

Who knows, next year the mushroom truffle Easter egg might come. Apparently, it gave incredibly good results during this brainstorming session.
