The Fall of Diddy: more revelations in new HBO Max docu

When the cesspool of P. Diddy was opened, it was only a matter of time before the storm of new documentaries would reach us. ‘Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy’ seems to have sounded the starting shot; and now HBO Max is following suit. In the four-part docuseries ‘The Fall of Diddy’, more than thirty people involved share their experiences with Diddy and his alleged violent and sexually inappropriate behavior.
A flood of revelations
‘The Fall of Diddy’ dives into the rapper's life from his college days to the current lawsuit. The creators, who previously made ‘Quiet On Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV’, spoke with dozens of people who came into contact with Diddy during that time. Although the first allegations of abuse only surfaced in 2023, it is clear from the trailer that the problems began much earlier. For instance, childhood friend Tim Patterson, who had previously contributed to a Diddy docu, also shares here about the rather unusual upbringing of the rapper. For those who had business dealings with him, it was certainly not a pleasure to work with or for him. Singer D. Woods, who was under contract with Diddy’s label with her band Danity Kane, reveals how things really went behind the scenes; the other side that the outside world never saw. Former VIBE Magazine editor-in-chief Danyel Smith, a former chauffeur, a former chef, and a publicist also share their stories. Makeup artist Mylah Morales claims to have witnessed the abuse of Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, the case that really set things in motion. Although everyone has their own experiences, all these people have one thing in common: they no longer want to remain silent, the world needs to know the truth.
Victims speak out
Not only people who knew Diddy from his youth or the music world share their stories, but also several alleged victims contributed to the docuseries. The creators spoke with Thalia Graves. She accuses Diddy and his bodyguard of drugging and abusing her in 2001. According to Thalia, the rapper also filmed all of this; later, he allegedly threatened her to keep the story quiet. The accusation from Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones was also investigated. He worked for years as a producer with Diddy and now accuses him of sexual abuse, violence, and abusive behavior. According to Rodney, there are many people like Diddy in the music industry, and revealing his story means that more secrets will come to light. With the help of all the interviews and, according to them, never-before-seen archival footage, the creators hope to reveal the true nature of the rapper and the pattern of violence and abuse he kept hidden for years. One thing is certain: this docu will once again deal a significant blow to Diddy’s image. And while new accusations continue to emerge and the lawsuit has yet to begin, this could end up costing him dearly.
‘The Fall of Diddy’ will be available on HBO Max starting January 28.
