This is how you quickly regain routine in your life after a vacation

Vacation is wonderful: time to sleep in, do nothing, and especially just do what you feel like. But at the same time, it can throw your entire rhythm off, making it difficult to get back into your day-to-day life. Once your vacation is over, it becomes very hard to get back to work feeling rested and motivated.. How do you make that transition as easy as possible for yourself?
Sleep. And I don't mean sleeping in.
As wonderful as it is to plan cozy dinners and drinks, and then stay in bed until around 10, it doesn't really help with the ‘getting back to work rested’ plan, strangely enough. Your body goes into a sort of jetlag mode, making you exhausted when you suddenly have to get up at the ‘normal’ time to go to work. Your body needs to adjust to a regular schedule so that you fall asleep and wake up naturally. Without hitting snooze 3 times, that is!
Healthy eating is always key.
It may be very boring, but healthy eating is good for so many more things than just a strong body. It's also super important for your sleep and overall fit feeling. Make sure you eat as little sugar as possible and pay attention to getting enough vegetables and fruit. Just recovering from the oliebollen and liters of wine, therefore. Eating at fixed times also helps to get your body back into a regular rhythm.
Move it, move it.
New Year's walks are so incredibly fun and nice to do with a few lovely people around you! Instead of planning another drink, you might as well choose to go move with a nice group.. It's wise to schedule appointments and obligations. Even if it's a hair appointment: this ensures that you have to leave the house and thus get moving. It helps if you demand from yourself that you don't use social media for a while, as this can be so distracting that suddenly hours have passed and it feels ’too late’ to go to the gym. Excuses, of course, but you might as well try to avoid those if you want to start the new year fresh.
