Why you should start planning weekend getaways for all of 2025 now

By

‘We should actually just take a weekend trip somewhere’ is a sentence I find myself saying a bit too often in a year without anything really coming of it. You can want it badly, but shifting all sorts of obligations and ensuring you have more than 24 hours free to go somewhere is often quite an undertaking.

So how do you ensure that you actually take that time for a weekend away?

Taking a few days off here and there is a huge boost for your motivation and sense of happiness. There are also so many wonderful places to go to, that it almost feels like a waste if you don’t take the time to regularly get away for a few days. It’s much easier to plan all this in advance, because scheduling a weekend getaway is surprisingly much easier than having to cancel things like work obligations at a later stage because you want to plan a nice few days.

And it’s really very important to make that time for yourself.

Depending on where you’re going, it’s not only fun to seek out the local shops and try the best local restaurants. There are plenty of sights to be found in every area that tell something about the history of that place. It’s a form of self-enrichment by gathering these little pieces of history. And whether you’re going with friends, family, or your loved one, it’s definitely quality time in one of the most enjoyable ways: experiencing and seeing new things together. Such a little trip is something to look forward to, especially at times when you wouldn’t have made time for it if you hadn’t planned it in advance: a bit of relaxation during the busiest and most stressful periods. A very simple advantage is: if you book your trips a bit further in advance, it’s guaranteed to be cheaper than if you only think about it shortly before.
