This recycled outfit Máxima wore on Budget Day

By

Prince's Day is an important day. We hear what the main plans are for the coming year and where our tax money is going. And, something else: we can spot another great outfit from Máxima. Our queen is always stylish and we see that again today.

And now, the question we are all waiting for. What did Máxima wear?

Due to the cold, our Argentine queen couldn't shine in a summer outfit, so she opted for an icy sea green Jan Taminiau gown. And she looked chic in it: the neckline draped beautifully and the entire dress was adorned with stunning details of embroidered glass beads.

The almost gray, sea green dress – which by the way looks just like today's weather – was brightened up by a pop of color in the gown she wore. And if that dress looked familiar to you, that might be right. It has been recycled; Máxima wore it before during Prince's Day in 2011. And honestly? She still looks just as beautiful.

Well, a different hat

The hat that our queen wore in 2011, she did not repeat. Instead of that, she wears a handmade saucer hat. In the same color as her dress, decorated with flowers. The saucer is extremely upright, perhaps so she doesn't burst out laughing during this extremely serious moment? Just kidding. We don't know, but it certainly looks beautiful.

Máxima is no stranger to recycling

That she has a good clothing style was already known to us, so it's not strange that Máxima likes to repeat her looks. Instead of buying a new dress for every occasion, she is mindful of her footprint. Go for sustainability. She is often spotted in worn outfits. Like that time she wore a seventeen-year-old dress to the wedding of Count Casper Matuschka and Countess Leonie von Waldburg-Zeil-Hohenems. Of course, this bright pink creation was a Natan dress; one of Her Majesty's favorite brands.

She recycled again today, because Ariane wore a cocktail hat from Philip Treacy that Máxima wore earlier during King's Day.

Besides sustainability, re-wearing her clothes gives a huge goodwill factor. She is not a born royal and wants to come across as modest. She is also ‘just a woman’, as she would probably say herself.
