They form the new couple of the internet: Roxy Dekker and Koen van Heest. Since April 2024, they have been officially together and since then we see them appearing everywhere together. In vlogs, on TikTok, on stage and yes: in a design apartment worth 1.9 million euros – yup, almost 2 million (!!!). The two are almost impossible to imagine being away from our timeline.

Okay okay, Roxy is already a well-known phenomenon among us. But who is her boyfriend Koen actually? I – as a secret Bankzitters fan (yup) – know everything about this Bankzitters legend. Let’s talk about that Koen van Heest…

Koen van Heest as a mini

Before he conquered Roxy’s heart, Koen had already won the hearts of thousands of viewers. His YouTube career actually started back in 2012 (yep, he was 14 then – how young) with the channel DoNotPressNL. What did he do there? FIFA and Call of Duty (probably means nothing to you, but let’s briefly summarize that he made gaming videos). Koen figured out early on how to make people laugh and that was what he enjoyed doing the most.

What is less known: Koen was actually already an aspiring entrepreneur as a teenager. While he convinced friends to game with him, he was already coming up with plans to combine his passion for content creation and entertainment with making money. Quite impressive for such a young guy, right?

From gaming to the Bankzitters: the great success of Koen

Yup: In 2017, life as a YouTuber became really serious when Koen, together with Matthy, Raoul, Robbie, and Milo, founded the group Bankzitters. The Bankzitters have since grown into one of the largest online formats in the Netherlands. With millions of views, sold-out venues, and hit rankings in the Single Top 100 – yup, you heard that right. Making songs started as a joke, but it was received so well that they have even played in the Ziggo Dome and are going on tour soon.

Besides all this, he still keeps posting content on his own channel, what does he post? Mostly funny reaction videos. And spoiler: lately, you see a familiar face appearing more often in his videos… Right, Roxy.

Roxy Dekker and Koen van Heest: in love in Amsterdam-Zuid

Yayy- Since April 2024 it’s official and now they even share a house. And not just any house, but a 265m² design apartment in Amsterdam-Zuid, designed by none other than Piet Boon. In the video on Koen’s channel ‘Our Housetour’, they take us through their kitchen, their office, and “their” bathroom. Roxy said about it herself: “We’re just like a married couple.” And honestly? We see it. They cook together, sing together, and can laugh together at the driest inside jokes. TikTok is full of it. Their love is not only undeniable but also contagious – it just brings a smile to our faces.

What does Koen van Heest do when he’s not vlogging or singing?

What a smart guy he is: He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2020. Furthermore, he, along with his Bankzitters buddies, founded the platform IkWilTegoed (the platform where you can easily and quickly buy gift cards and subscriptions online). Oh, and he also developed the hit game Kaasje, which topped the App Store for weeks. Entrepreneur vibes? You bet. How much he earned with Kaasje? That remains unknown, but rumors have it that it’s not a small amount;)

So Koen is not only an entertainer and super funny, but also a smart entrepreneur who knows how to turn his creative ideas into success (aka: money).

What is Koen van Heest like in real life?

Koen grew up in Haarlem, is loyal to his friend group, and prefers to keep his family out of the spotlight. Since his relationship with Roxy, he lives even more in the limelight, but he remains remarkably down-to-earth. He comes across as funny, a bit chaotic (in a charming way), and above all, just himself. And honestly: it’s exactly that which makes you understand why Roxy fell for him. Roxy mentioned that she secretly had a crush on the Bankzitters before they met – how cute is that?

A fun unnecessary fact? Koen is currently undergoing a hair transplant for his receding hairline. During the Bankzitters videos, his friends joked about it, but he is the first one who has to go through it – just to be clear: not from me ;)
