winter full of love 2025

We can't ignore that Winter full of Love has started with a bang. You would think that the real dramas would only start later, when people have had to receive multiple potential loves and are totally overstimulated and stressed out by the constant dates and the work that continues alongside it. So much happened in this first week that I can imagine it’s sometimes hard to keep up. I’ll give you the recap you need to fully enjoy all the new dramas that will develop next week.

Mike and his mother

You would think we’ve talked enough about it, but I still find it hard to let it go. Mike's mother is an incredibly present person in his life. Of course, it’s very beautiful to see a boy have a strong bond with his mother, but maybe this goes a bit too far. Denise has a strong preference from mom, that’s noticeable, and maybe it also plays a part that Denise resembles mother Mike quite a bit. Denise is clearly chosen by her, while Lena received the cautious preference from Mike. From the very first moment, Lena has no chance, and when mommy unexpectedly shows up again (this time at the après ski), Denise is not so subtly pushed towards Mike. Meanwhile, Lena is kept in a hold to ensure she can’t get any closer to Mike. Oh, boys, it’s just waiting for mom to snap. I expect tears if she doesn’t get her way.

Jan and Michiel

Has there ever been a worse combination of two people? I don’t think so. Michiel and Jan have been getting under each other's skin from the very first moment. Michiel has too much feeling and Jan’s empathy is set to zero. All week I wondered why these men still tried to be together, so the relief was great when Michiel finally left. During the exit conversation, he still said a few special words: that he felt ‘he had made a friend’. That must have happened completely off-camera.

Adrienne and her emo men

That Adrienne is really a catch is clear. She is a beautiful, intelligent, and strong woman. Her first guest, Erik, seemed to be exactly the company she needed. A sweet, happy friend. But unfortunately, in this program, they are not looking for new friendships, so it’s time for him to leave. This is not only hard for Erik, especially Gerard is deeply affected by this message. Even though Gerard has barely spent half a day with Erik, he cries passionately at the farewell. It’s also less surprising that after one walk with Adrienne, he declares to be completely in love with her, butterflies and all. I can already hear some alarm bells ringing in the distance and those red flag that I see have nothing to do with a red slope.

Maarten and… Maarten.

If you don’t like basketball, you are completely at the wrong address with Maarten. From the first meeting, Maarten is quite upset that his love candidate doesn’t immediately exclaim in astonishment that he’s ’that one professional basketball coach’, because that was Maarten’s great passion when he lived in the Netherlands. But basketball is just not that big in the Netherlands, and the ladies in his target group are not yet from the generation that you first fully investigate your date before you meet up. And Maarten doesn’t like that very much. Let’s hope that at least one lady arrives in the coming weeks who is fully basketball-minded, otherwise it will be a very boring story for coach Maarten.
