These 6 things you must do before you turn 30
Through the eyes of a student

There are just certain things you need to do before you 30 are. Before you have kids, suddenly have a favorite supermarket, and those first wrinkles permanently settle on your forehead. There are plenty of things I dream about as a twenty-something, but unfortunately can't do with my student budget.
Because before I know it, I'm 30, have a mortgage, a fixed spot at the table, and suddenly find it very cozy to be in bed at half past ten on a Friday night. By the way, I still find that delightful.
Nothing wrong with that, but some things you just have to experience once. Here are 6 things I would recommend doing before you hit dirty thirty 30.

Going to a Magic Mike show
There are things you don't necessarily have to do before you turn thirty, but later you think: why not? I think Magic Mike is one of those.
Going to London with friends for 24 hours, hardly sleeping, and visiting the Magic Mike guys in the evening? A dream. Sorry to my boyfriend, but as a young woman in my early 20s, this is still a must-have bucket list item that I want to check off before the wrinkles come.
I've heard the show is really fascinating and hilarious at the same time. So, what am I actually waiting for? Off to London.
Going on a blind date or speed date
Just because you're single in your twenties doesn't mean your entire love life has to play out through Tinder, Bumble, and Instagram DMs.
Go on a blind date. Or do a speed date. No photos, no silly pickup lines, and especially: no three days of thinking about how to respond to “hahaha yes”. Just sit across from someone and see what happens. And if it's totally nothing? At least you have a good story.

A threesome
Although I personally don't have FOMO for this, I can imagine there are a lot of fantasies about it among twenty-somethings. A threesome needs no explanation. Or maybe it needs a lot of explanation, but we'll save that for another time.
Whether you've always wanted to try it or are just curious: your twenties are the perfect time to discover things. And no, that doesn't mean you have to have had a threesome before you turn thirty. But if it's on your bucket list, maybe this is the moment to make it happen.
Jumping out of a plane
For some people, it's a dream, for others an absolute nightmare. But if you've ever thought you would like to go skydiving, why keep postponing it? There's something very special about doing something you know for sure will be thrilling.
And yes, you can also just keep your feet on the ground. But if it's been on your bucket list for years, maybe this is the moment to actually take the plunge.

Traveling for a while
Not two weeks all-inclusive to Spain. I really mean traveling. A backpack on your back, a way too heavy suitcase, sleeping in places whose names you can barely pronounce, and sometimes having no idea where you'll end up the next night.
When you're young, it's much easier to take a few months off. You don't have kids yet, no mortgage, and not three schedules that need to be coordinated first. So book that one-way ticket. Or at least that first flight.
Living abroad
Going on vacation is one thing. Really living somewhere is something completely different (and I can attest to that). A few months in London, New York, Barcelona (I vote for Paris!) or wherever your heart races. Renting a room, grocery shopping in a supermarket where you don't know half the products, and discovering what your life looks like when no one knows exactly who you are.
Maybe you'll find out that you don't want to live in the abroad. That's fine too. But who knows, you might discover that you've been living in the wrong place for years. And maybe that's exactly why you should try it before you turn thirty.
