This popular wake up light now has a cheap Action version
For a few months now, I have been using the Hatch Restore alarm clock. With this high-tech alarm clock, you can set your wake-up or wind-down routine in advance, simulating a sunrise, using soothing music to wake you up, or playing rain sounds to help you fall asleep better.
I am a big fan, but the downside is that someone had to bring it from America and it also comes with a hefty price tag. A popular alarm clock that is available in the Netherlands is the Philips Wake-up Light. This is sold for about €70, but Action is now selling their own version for just €9.95.
A cheap wake-up light from Action
The Grundig Wake-up Light from Action has, like the other alarms, a sunrise simulation where the light gradually gets brighter, with different light colors and settings. Additionally, it has a built-in alarm clock with a snooze function.
In terms of size, it is quite compact, measuring 16.5 by 7 by 15 centimeters. Notably, the Grundig offers multiple light colors, while the Philips only uses yellow light for the sunrise. The basic functions of both devices are therefore very similar.
Get rid of your phone as an alarm clock
If you want to make your room, like I do, a phone-free zone while you sleep, this is the perfect solution. You also can't always rely on your phone alarm going off. I've had times when my phone was off or not working properly, causing me to miss my alarm.
Additionally, I always wake up startled by the iPhone alarm sounds. Waking up by light feels much more natural.
For €9.95, it's worth a try
So: if you've always wanted to try a wake-up light, I would definitely go to Action quickly. For such an amount, it's an accessible way to see if such an alarm clock is for you.
And since these kinds of things at Action often disappear suddenly, I wouldn't wait too long before it sells out.
