Dave Roelvink and Marijn Kuipers break up: “We let each other go”
It seemed to be such a beautiful love story, but Dave Roelvink and Marijn Kuipers they have broken up. The two announced today via Instagram that after more than two years together, they are going their separate ways. And that comes as quite a surprise: just half a year ago, they announced that they were engaged.
Dave shares a photo of him and Marijn together on Instagram, along with a lengthy message about the breakup. According to the two, it became increasingly clear over time that their visions for the future were too far apart. “No matter how difficult and painful this decision is, we know that this is the right choice for both of us,” they write.

According to them, this is not a breakup because love has completely disappeared. Dave and Marijn write that they still care deeply for each other and that they are not breaking up because the love is no longer there.
“Out of love and respect for each other, we let each other go,” they write in their Instagram story. They wish each other a future that better fits their desires; better to part ways. What exactly those different visions for the future are, they leave unsaid.
Dave Roelvink sends a clear message to the press
That Dave is not looking forward to a flood of interviews becomes very clear shortly after the announcement. On Instagram, he shares a second story in which he addresses the press directly.
“Seriously all the press calling me for an interview,” he writes. Then follows a message that leaves little room for interpretation: “How the f*ck do you think I feel right now? Leave me alone.”
Half a year after engagement, now breaking up
Dave and Marijn were together for over two years and announced about six months ago that they were engaged. Now it turns out that they will not continue together.
Marijn shares the same statement on her own Instagram. She adds that they both need peace and space to process the breakup in their own way. She also asks people to handle this respectfully.
