This is the best budget-friendly self-tanner under €10

My own skin color hasn't seen daylight in over a year, which is because I'm really obsessed with self-tanning. Bottles of that brown stuff go pretty quickly for me and unfortunately, my wallet isn't endlessly deep. Paying twenty or thirty euros every time for a new bottle of self-tanner? I'd rather be a bit less brown.
Fortunately, I've found a budget-friendly variant that I'm quite a fan of and which I use every month. One that not only gets nice and dark but also costs under ten euros.
And if you like a good tan, you might want to save this one.
Self-tanner for a bargain
I'm talking about the St. Moriz Dark Tanning Mousse, which I always buy at Normal Boozy Shop. I've tested quite a few self-tanners by now. Mousses, lotions, sprays, and even drops: I've smeared on everything. The problem I run into when you regularly apply self-tanner is the price.
And if you use self-tanner multiple times a week, that amount adds up pretty quickly. That's why I was also happy when I discovered this self-tanner. This is one of those products where you see the price tag and think: okay, but will this actually work?
Spoiler: yes.
Hello, brown legs
The name says it all: this self-tanner is for people who are not looking for a subtle kiss from the sun. Dark, then. And I can personally fully agree with that.
I personally don't want to wait three days before I finally see a bit of color. When I use self-tanner, I want to see a clear difference. And this mousse gives you exactly that.
You apply it with a special glove and can decide how dark you want to go. One layer already gives a nice color, so that's enough. It also depends on how long you let the self-tanner absorb. The more hours, the darker it gets. And you can leave this on for up to 8+ hours.
In the next 24 hours, after rinsing off, the color develops even further. So when you wake up the next morning, the color is even nicer than the night before.
Why I find it so nice
What I particularly like about the St. Moriz mousse is that it's so easy to apply. The mousse has a dark guide color, so you can see well where you've already been during application.
And that's really a plus in my opinion. Because nothing is more annoying than thinking you've smeared everything neatly and then discovering the next morning that you still have a completely white forearm.
Forgotten a leg? Panic. Forgotten an elbow? Even more panic. With the dark color, you can see much better where you need to touch up during application.
And how dark does it get?
Well, quite dark. The Ultra Dark variant is especially nice if you like a deeper, brown color and not a very subtle result.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend it if you're using self-tanner for the first time and are afraid of getting too dark. It's better to start with a thin layer and see how your skin reacts.
Are you now a self-tanner pro and know exactly what you want? Then this is just the kind of bottle you probably want to have in your bathroom and can grab when you get pale again.
The biggest advantage: the price
And then we come to perhaps my favorite part: the price. The St. Moriz Dark Tanning Mousse is available for less than €10. And considering how quickly you can go through self-tanner, I personally find that quite a difference compared to the more expensive brands.
Especially if you use the product regularly, I just find it nice not to think every time that I'm making a small investment as soon as my bottle is almost empty. Self-tanning should primarily remain fun for me. Not something that financially burdens you as a student.
My tips for the best result
As with every self-tanner, of course, preparation is half the work. Scrubbing before you start is essential. Make sure to moisturize dry spots well with body lotion and especially don't forget your hands, knees, ankles, and elbows.
Then apply it gently with a tanning glove and blend well in circular motions. Especially on your hands and feet, I would be a bit more careful, as self-tanner can accumulate quite enthusiastically there.
And let your self-tanner absorb nicely afterward. So don't immediately put on your favorite white pajamas only to discover that your bedding has also gotten a new color.
