This Essence lip balm has the perfect autumn color

There are those makeup products that you just know right away: yes, this is going in my bag for the coming months. I especially have this with lip products: my makeup look is not complete without a good lip combo. As soon as summer is a bit over and the first autumn-like days come knocking, I automatically crave warmer colors and a nice brown lip color.

The Essence Milky Glazed Glossy Lip Balm (full mouth) in the color 05 ‘Latte-tude’ is exactly what the name hints at: a warm, medium brown color with a glossy finish. In other words: a shade that perfectly fits autumn.
And honestly: I find it difficult that summer is over again. But it is still wonderful when the new seasonal colors are back on the shelves. This lip product gives just a bit more color than a regular lip balm, but I don’t immediately feel like I’m walking around with sticky lips.
A lip balm and lip gloss in one
What I like about this Essence is that you actually wear two products in one. This way, I don’t have to carry my big jar of Vaseline everywhere. The formula has the nourishing properties of a lip balm, but at the same time gives the glossy finish of a lip gloss. For the real makeup nerds; the balm contains rice extract, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin E and feels soft and comfortable on the lips.
You can wear it alone for a simple, glossy look, but also over a lipliner apply if you want a bit more definition. That’s how I prefer to wear it. And that just happens to be my favorite combination for autumn: a dark lip liner, this gloss on top, and done.

As if the color isn’t enough reason to take it with you, the lip balm currently costs €2.69 for 4 ml at Kruidvat. Come on girls, for that amount, ‘I actually have enough lip products’ suddenly becomes a pretty weak argument.
For that money, you don’t even have to think long, as far as I’m concerned. Especially not if you, like me, look for an excuse every season to give your makeup collection a little update. And it’s precisely that combination of the color, the glossy finish, and the price that makes this so fun for me. You don’t have to spend thirty euros to add something new to your beauty collection.
