The insane benefits of the kiwi

In a time when we want to live as healthily as possible and at the same time don't have too much time, the kiwi is a solution. I must say that it is not my favorite fruit in terms of taste, but when you list the benefits, you can't help but include them in your daily menu. Let me list the benefits:

Rich in vitamin C

Kiwis are an excellent source of vitamin C, even more than an orange. This makes the kiwi perfect for giving your immune system a boost, it promotes wound healing and helps keep your skin healthy and radiant.

Improvement of digestion

Kiwis contain an enzyme called actinidin, which helps break down proteins in your digestive tract. This can promote digestion and help relieve bloating or constipation.

Rich in fiber

The kiwi is an excellent source of dietary fiber, which helps promote healthy digestion. It also increases gut health and can lower the risk of heart disease.

Promotion of heart health

Kiwis contain antioxidants such as flavonoids and carotenoids, which contribute to reducing inflammation and protecting your heart. They can help lower blood pressure and improve your cholesterol levels.

Strengthens the skin

The vitamin C in kiwis not only helps your immune system but also promotes collagen production, which improves skin elasticity and can reduce fine lines.

Helps with sleep

Kiwis contain serotonin, which can help improve your sleep quality. Eating kiwis before bedtime can help you fall asleep faster and experience deeper sleep.

Low in calories

Kiwis are low in calories and packed with water, making them an excellent choice for anyone looking to snack healthily or manage their weight.

Good source of antioxidants

The kiwi is full of antioxidants that help fight free radicals in your body. This can slow down your aging process and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

Shall I end with a funny anecdote? When I once worked at RTL Boulevard, back in the days, we were allowed to interview Britney Spears, who was then still very much flirting with her virginity. We asked her which fruit she would like to be and she replied: “A kiwi, because it is soft on the outside and has seeds on the inside.” And we got a lot of news sites with that. Funny, right?

Love,
May
