MAFS Australia’s Filip and Stella have broken up

(and this is what we know so far)

By

No, no, no, no. Not really Filip and Stella, right? Of all the couples from MAFS Australia 2026, they were really the ones where all our hope and love was directed. So nice and sweet, mature, they really seemed made for each other. In fact, Filip went down on one knee during the Final Vows, immediately moved to Sydney, and together they were even talking about a wedding in Croatia. But now, eight months later, I read a message on Stella’s Instagram. They have broken up.

They were, by the way, the only couple from the thirteenth season that was still together after the filming.

The first signs were apparently already there. New to me, I fell for an AI photo online where Stella was holding an ultrasound photo that suggested she was already pregnant. But, apparently fans noticed that Filip and Stella were no longer following each other on Instagram. And now this candid and emotional message from Stella has come out, reflecting on all the lessons she learned from this relationship. Without mentioning Filip even once by name.

She writes: “It would be easy to tell this story by determining who was right and who was wrong,” she writes. “To point a blaming finger. To protect my ego. To pretend I was perfect. But I am not.”

She writes that she has made mistakes and regrets certain things, but that she also tries to see this painful period as an opportunity to grow. “Sometimes life teaches you something in a gentle way and sometimes you get a lesson that hits heartbreakingly hard. This one hit hard.”

This is what Stella writes about her breakup with Filip

What stands out from Stella's message is that she does reflect on her own character again. She writes that she always thought her ambition, her directness, and her constant drive to move forward were positive traits. However, this relationship showed her that sometimes there is fear lurking beneath that.

Fear of falling behind. Fear that her dreams won't come true. Fear of losing control.

“Fear has a special way of disguising itself,” she writes. “Sometimes it looks like ambition. Sometimes it sounds like high standards. Sometimes it hides behind drive.”

According to Stella, the people we love do not always experience our intentions the way we mean them. “Sometimes they feel pressure. Sometimes they feel control. Sometimes they experience someone who is so focused on tomorrow that they unintentionally forget how beautiful today is.”

She calls it one of the hardest mirrors she has ever had to look into.

Why did Filip and Stella break up?

Recently, Stella spoke lovingly about her future with Filip. Was this decision not made too quickly? Because in an interview, she mentioned that she talked to him about freezing her eggs and her desire to have children. She had given herself a clear timeline.

In fact, she said: “If I am not pregnant in twelve months, then I need to do that,” she said at the time. “I also need to take care of my future self and my possibilities in the future.”

But well, that need to plan ahead does indeed align remarkably well with her Instagram message now. Not because this would be the reason for the breakup, but perhaps because Stella herself writes that this relationship made her realize how strong her focus on the future can sometimes be. Maybe a bit too pushy and driving her point home?

Filip is said to have ended the relationship

According to people around them, it was ultimately Filip who made the decision to put an end to the relationship. Not due to one big fight, but rather the slow realization that their expectations for the future no longer aligned.

Online, I read on Australian sites various topics that may have played a role. Such as distance, work, and finances. Together, these may have caused pressure within the relationship. People in their environment had noticed for some time that Filip and Stella were increasingly leading their own lives.

Maybe Filip couldn't really settle in Sydney? No family, no work, no friends. He had to reinvent everything.

Filip and Stella were the only MAFS couple still together

Perhaps the most beautiful thing Stella writes is this: love is not just about having a good heart, but also about the impact you leave on the heart of the person opposite you.

Whether her need for control, her ambition, or their different future plans ultimately contributed to the breakup, only Filip and Stella know. What her message especially shows is that relationships are often much more complex than one clear reason.

Sometimes a relationship is not meant to last forever, but to teach you something about yourself. If we are to believe Stella's message, that is exactly what this love has brought her.

Okay, I really need to process this personally. I really expected they would make it. They were going to get married in Croatia and would end up like Cam & Jules.

But well, sometimes it apparently doesn't go that way.

This MAFS couples at least they are still together.
