If there is a series that I really want to watch again, it is definitely Yellowstone. What a won-der-ful series. Some series really stick with you and Yellowstone is really one of those for me. And now the best news of the day: Kayce is coming back with his own series. This new series is called Marshals and is entirely about that lovely, handsome, and fun Kayce Dutton.

Exactly. That one Dutton who always lived a bit between two worlds. And maybe that’s exactly why he is getting his own series now.

Less ranch, more action

Where Yellowstone focused on land, family, and power, shifts the focus in Marshals to something more personal. Kayce largely leaves the ranch life behind and joins the U.S. Marshals in Montana. So, a bit less of the ranch as the center, but still those typical Montana western landscapes that we know from Yellowstone.

And that feels like a logical continuation. Kayce was never the Dutton who found happiness in power or control. He wanted much more peace, but at the same time is someone who has been trained to fight and protect.

But in this series, peace and Kayce won’t go together for long. The series will be filled with crime cases in remote locations, a lot of action and crime, and the delightful Sheridan style that we all love (Yellowstone and the great series Landman)

Kayce as the center

In Yellowstone was often the most introverted Dutton. Less outspoken than Beth (duh), less calculating than Jamie, and less dominant than John. Because of that, he always felt like the moral compass of the series. But in Marshals he finally becomes the center of the story.

And that fits well with the way Taylor Sheridan writes his main characters: men trying to escape their past, but are constantly caught up by it. Kayce is the perfect example of that.

A new chapter in the Yellowstone universe

With prequels like 1883 and 1923 Sheridan went back in time. Marshals does the exact opposite and shows what happens after Yellowstone.

Familiar characters may still pop up (Monica and Tate remain part of Kayce’s private life) but the series also feels like a fresh start. Less family war, more personal choices. So, really a new chapter, but still the same world.

Kayce Dutton: bring it on! We are ready for you. Starting March 2, 2026, on Skyshowtime.
