A while ago, I went shopping with my lovely mother when I came across a store saleswoman with an incredibly beautiful eyeshadow. I immediately asked where she got it from. A day later, I was of course at Douglas to add this to my makeup collection.
Then I'm talking about the Eye Perfecting Shimmer Stick from Meroda. And I understand by now why I found this so beautiful with her.
The Eye Perfecting Shimmer Stick does its job
I love a classy makeup look without too much fuss, but this eye shimmer still gives that little extra to your face. No five different eyeshadows, no hassle with brushes, and especially no attempt to make two eyes look exactly the same. This stick is perfect for that.
You twist the stick up, apply it to your eyelid, and you immediately have a beautiful shimmer. You don't even need a base color underneath. Just blend it out with your finger if you want it a bit softer, and you're done.
I really love that kind of makeup. The Eye Perfecting Shimmer Stick has a creamy formula and is, according to Meroda, smudge-proof and long-lasting. You can also use it not only on your eyelid but also in your inner corner or as a highlight under your eyebrow.

This also made me happy. You have a choice of five colors: Mauve, Pearl, Gold, Champagne, and Bronze.
My personal favorite is the color I saw with the saleswoman (pearl), but honestly: they are all beautiful in their own way. Mauve gives a bit more of a pink glow (nice for an olive-toned skin), Champagne is very subtle and fresh, and with Bronze, you immediately warm up your eye look.
And if you're thinking: but when am I going to wear this? Well, actually always. A little bit on your eyelid for daytime, for example. Mascara with it, a bit blush and lipgloss and you're done. But you can of course also apply it a bit thicker, or with a darker eyeshadow underneath, if you want to go all out in the evening.
You don't need to be a makeup artist for an extra highlight on the eyes with this product. That's what I find beautiful: you can see the shimmer so well that you don't have to completely overhaul your entire makeup look before it stands out.

Now we come to the part you probably clicked on this article for. Everyone loves obviously good deals (after all, we are Dutch). The highlighter stick is of course available at Meroda, where the eye shimmer stick costs €24.95. But I found it at Douglas for a bit cheaper.
The Eye Perfecting Shimmer Stick has a recommended retail price of €24.95, but Douglas is currently selling it for just €19.96. That saves you almost five euros. And on an amount of almost twenty-five, that's a fifth off. How nice!
