If you have a good book, reading is the best thing there is. That's why I find curation so important; that someone you see as a taste barometer whispers the right book to you.

Bergdorf Blondes – Plum Sykes
I even once had T-shirts printed with a passage from this book. “Sorry, front row girls can’t speak to second row girls. It’s very bad for their backs to twist necks like that.” It’s about the lives of the incredibly wealthy heirs of department store owners in New York, who spend about €1500 every three weeks on the perfect shade of blonde. In this book, an English journalist navigates that world while viewing it from her English roots. Plum Sykes is herself a delightful Brit who exudes understated chic and has spent a lot of time in America due to her work for American Vogue.

Front Row – Jerry Oppenheimer
A very well-researched biography about the life, the highs, the lows, and the exciting intervening periods in the life of Vogue legend Anna Wintour.

Grace, a memoir – Grace Coddington
An autobiography by Grace Coddington, the creative director of Vogue, stylist, and previously a model and muse herself. Grace is an exceptional woman who, although she is more of a background child or person, has lived like a rockstar. When you read her book, you will often cover your mouth in disbelief because you simply can’t believe that all of this has happened in one person’s life.

Bringing Home the Birkin – Michael Tonello
I always have about five copies of Bringing Home the Birkin lying around because I am truly the Tonello missionary. This book must be read because it is so incredibly fun, witty, informative, and layered. Moreover, it really happened and is such a beautiful example of how life can push you in a certain direction through coincidences.
