These are the participants of Love is Blind: Netherlands

Last night it happened: I got to go to the Love is Blind: Netherlands watch party, where I could already watch the first two episodes. And I can already reveal: it’s amazing. Without immediately spoiling everything, because you all have to wait a bit for that, but the first episodes definitely make you curious about the rest. A lot happens, the first connections are made, and I have the feeling that we can expect many surprises in the upcoming episodes.

And now that I have seen the first images, it’s high time for you to get to know the singles. Because who are the thirty men and women who dare to search for love without seeing each other even once?

How does Love is Blind work again?

For those who are not familiar with the show: thirty singles step into the so-called pods. These are rooms separated from each other by a thin wall. You can hear each other, but absolutely not see each other.

And that creates a quite unique way of dating. No swiping, no profile pictures, and no first impression based on appearance. The singles have to rely entirely on their conversations and the connection that arises from them.

If that connection is strong enough, a proposal can even follow before they have ever seen each other. Only then are they allowed to meet for the first time. And then the real test begins: traveling together, living together, planning the wedding, and ultimately deciding whether they actually want to marry each other.

These are the women (and what they do)

Fifteen women are participating in the first season. And the group is quite diverse when it comes to work and background. I’ll keep it as brief as possible for you, because we don’t know that much about the participants yet. How they really are, you will see tomorrow, of course.

Ashley (34) is a wedding officiant, Chanel (32) is a lawyer, and Claire (32) works as a campus recruiter. Elvira (28) is a corporate lawyer, and Jaslynn (31) works as a visual digital merchandiser.

We also meet Dewy (30), an online marketer, and Francine (31), who is a digital nomad. Lina (34) works as a nurse, and Margaretha (30) is the owner of an HR agency.

Then there are Marli (33), a recruiter in healthcare, Meinou (29), a career coach, and Mirella (33), who is a fashion designer. Mika (26), the youngest of the group, works as a functional specialist at a bank, Susan (33) is a tech strategy partner, and Yasemin (32) works as a senior recruiter.

And of course: the men

On the other side of the wall are the fifteen men.

Brian (28) is a recruitment consultant, and Gijs (34) is a photographer. Jurriaan (32) works as a sous-chef, and Ludo (32) is the owner of an education company. Etienne (32) is an event planner and DJ, Gino (31) is an entrepreneur in the health sector, and Khalilu (28) works as an IT risk security officer. Marc (32) is a lawyer.

Additionally, there are Martijn (34), an account manager, Miguel (31), a police officer, and Roël (29), the owner of a design agency.

Wouter (29) works as an IT consultant, Martijn (32) is a sustainability consultant, and Rajiv (34) is a wellness & psychology trainer. Finally, we have Rutger (32), who works as a marketer.

Who will fall in love?

That is of course the question. After the first two episodes, I can at least say that there is already enough happening to be curious about how the different connections will develop. And since I can’t reveal anything further, I’ll leave it at that for now.

What I can say: the upcoming episodes promise to be interesting. Because once the singles actually see each other, it will really get exciting. Is the person with whom you have such a strong emotional connection exactly as you expected? Or does reality turn out to be just a bit different?

The Dutch version of Love is Blind is presented by Nicolette van Dam and Bas Smit. The first five episodes will be released on September 30, followed by three episodes on October 7, and ‘The Wedding’ will be shown on October 14. The reunion will follow at a later time. So if you’re ready tomorrow: these are the thirty singles you will see in the pods in the coming weeks. And believe me, after last night, I am definitely very curious about who will ultimately choose each other. I already have my suspicions.
