Half of the Netherlands flies to Spain, but it's much cheaper here

Where is the best for the wallet?
The real deals are currently a bit off the beaten path, especially if you divert to the Balkans, it gets interesting. For example, vacations to Macedonia, Albanië and Bulgaria can already be found from about 318 euros per person for a week. For seven whole days of relaxation in the sun, that's a deal of a lifetime. Are you already googling how long it takes to drive through the Balkans? Maybe wait a bit, in some cases a flight holiday turns out to be cheaper than getting behind the wheel yourself. This is because fuel prices keep skyrocketing. We all feel it when we fill up.
Flexibility pays off
What travel organizations love most is a flexible traveler. Those who do not stick to a destination but are open to multiple countries or departure dates greatly increase their chances of a good deal. Flights that sell less well, hotels that still have rooms available; that's where the real bargains arise. By departing a day earlier or later, flying from a different airport, or being open to a destination ‘somewhere on the globe’, the price can suddenly drop by hundreds of euros.

What about all-inclusive?
All-inclusive is also achievable on a smaller budget. Especially Bulgaria, Turkey, and Tunisia still offer relatively affordable packages. For about 441 euros per person, you have an eight-day trip with everything included. Flight, breakfast, and that early animation that you either enthusiastically participate in or watch from your sunbed with a coffee. Turkey has fully played out all-inclusive on facilities, and therefore you get the most luxury for your money here.
Getting away in May doesn't have to cost you a fortune. Those who dare to let go of the familiar discover that there are still plenty of affordable options to be found. Before you know it, you too will be lying in May with SPF 30 in the warm sun, without having to eat dry pasta for the coming months.
