This is how to get rid of bloating

From former model to nutrition consultant, Michelle den Hollander flew around the world from shoot to show, but also experienced the struggles of having the ‘right’ measurements. This brought her to where she is now, and on Amayzine she shares tips.
A bloated feeling seems to be part of being a woman. At least, that's what I hear from the women around me. But that's not the case at all; it doesn't have to be that way. Of course, you have that monthly menstruation that can indeed cause a bit of bloating, but this is where you can get that feeling even more.
I personally get it from a piece of cake here, a doughnut there; so it's not surprising that I have a bit of trouble with my intestines. But: how do you get rid of it? It may be that you eat too quickly, causing you to often take more than your body needs. My first advice is: take the time to eat. Not while you're working behind your laptop or quickly grabbing a sandwich before you have to leave, but just at the table and preferably for at least twenty minutes. This way, your body gets rest and time to focus on digestion.
Another cause is eating foods that your body doesn't handle well. This often occurs with gluten, wheat, or lactose. I personally have it with raw zucchini and quinoa. If you notice this, it's better for your body to reduce those foods. And test it; see what happens to your body when you eat less of something.
A body also reacts better to unprocessed nutrients than to, I won't just name anything, sugars and sweeteners. Just like it does to good fats like avocado, fatty fish, and olive oil instead of less healthy fats. If you swap one for the other, the chance is great that the bloated feeling will disappear on its own.
Finally: add some extra fiber to your diet. Think of: leafy greens, berries, apples and pears (unpeeled), legumes, oats, quinoa, and other (gluten-free) grains.
Still not over? Stress can also give you a bloated feeling, just like too little exercise. A nice walk can solve both of those at once. And if all this doesn't help, it's advisable to reach out to your doctor.
