This is the name of the children of the Dutch National Team 2026

Our boys are loose and since yesterday we want to know everything, everything, everything about them. Which bags they carry (that's what our Hanna is writing about as we speak, to my left), which partner stands by their side and what their WAG is up to in life (spoiler alert: almost all have a clothing line). But we also want to know if there are any little, fresh professional footballers on the way, and what names they have given them. So here they come, at many people's request and for learning and amusement: the children's names of the 26 players of the Dutch national team.
Virgil van Dijk – Nila & Jadi
The captain, the rock, the man. Virgil chose two short, powerful girl names. Nila is a name that occurs worldwide and has a soft, modern appearance. Jadi sounds contemporary and original. Both names: strong and unusual, just like their father.
Frenkie de Jong – Miles & Mason
Frenkie and his Mikky (you know, her from that dream marriage) had two sons: Miles (born in 2023) and Mason (born in 2025). Despite his status as one of the Netherlands‘ biggest football stars, the two keep their family life deliberately private. Miles means ’soldier‘ or ’merciful', Mason refers to the stonemason, men who build something. That fits a father who holds Barcelona together from midfield.
Cody Gakpo – Samuël Seth
Cody opts for classic with Samuël Seth. A name that sounds like a biblical prophet. On April 25, 2024, Cody and his girlfriend Noa van der Bij became the parents of this little boy. Samuël means ‘God has heard’, Seth ‘appointed’. Two names with weight for a boy whose father already scores goals for Liverpool.
Donyell Malen – London Felipe Lou & Adonis
Donyell drew inspiration from around the world with London Felipe Lou. That sounds like an international pop star. Together with his wife Delisha, they also have a second son: Adonis. Adonis from Greek mythology, a symbol of male beauty and youth. Not a modest name choice, but it suits Malen perfectly.
Wout Weghorst – Juul, Lucie Mary Jo & Daantje Suze Mary
Wout Weghorst has three daughters: Juul, Lucie Mary Jo, and Daantje Suze Mary. A mix of simple and complicated, just like his playing style on the field.
Tijjani Reijnders – Xavién Lio Ti
Tijjani and his Marina got married in June 2022. They have a child, Xavién Lio Ti Reijnders, born on March 3, 2024. The name sounds exclusive, international, and sporty at the same time. With the accent marks, the name also gets an extra luxurious appearance. And there's more: Xavién will be a big brother.
Denzel Dumfries – Jesiah & daughter
Denzel chose Jesiah, a name you don't often hear in the Netherlands. The name has an international and biblical sound and fits within the trend of modern names with a spiritual background. His daughter prefers to keep the family private; her name has not been disclosed.
Marten de Roon – three daughters
Marten de Roon has three daughters with his wife Ricarda. The family keeps tight-lipped about the names of his girls.
Ryan Gravenberch – daughter
Ryan and his girlfriend Cindy have a little daughter together. The name of little Gravenberch has not been revealed yet. Our guess: something just as stylish as her dad.
Justin Kluivert – daughter
Justin Kluivert and his Shanna welcomed their first daughter on February 14, 2025. A Valentine’s baby – and the name? They are keeping it to themselves for now.
Nathan Aké – child
Nathan and his wife Kaylee Ramman welcomed their first child in 2022. Again: name unknown, happiness evident.
Memphis Depay – child
Memphis, the man who never really had his own father and always said he wanted to make a very different father of his own, became a father himself in 2025. He has not yet shared the name of his child with the outside world. We respect that and watch how the best scorer of all time for Oranje now also fulfills his most beautiful role.
Other squad members without children
The rest of the squad? Jorrel Hato (21), Quinten Timber, Mats Wieffer, Brian Brobbey, Crysencio Summerville, Guus Til, Teun Koopmeiners, Bart Verbruggen, Robin Roefs, Mark Flekken, Micky van de Ven, Jan Paul van Hecke, and Noa Lang have (as far as known) no children or at least keep it well hidden. They can still enjoy their sleep for a while.
