I consider myself a lucky to be categorized as a morning person. I have no trouble at all getting out of bed early. At the first ray of sun that catches my eye I hop out of bed. Being an early bird is not a problem. Hurrying is something I do have a problem with. I start the morning as relaxed as possible because it’s the ideal way to begin your day. Even if that means squeezing that relaxing feeling into half an hour. I’ll show you how you can too.

That alarm clock will always be an issue. No one wakes up happy to the sound of the alarm coming out of a phone while in the middle of a dream. A radio-alarm clock is the solution. Set it 15 minutes before you have to get up so you can wake up to a relaxing playlist. Believe me it works and that alarm signal isn’t nearly as annoying afterwards.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I agree. Before arriving at work I’ve cycled, taken the train and cycled again, a grumbling stomach is the last thing I need. So eat your breakfast. You could also prepare a smoothie or an oatmeal porridge the night before.

A relaxing morning isn’t relaxing without a shower. I get that you don’t have the time to take a long shower but you can fake the long shower ritual in just a few minutes. Smell does a lot. I love soft fragrances like white tea that take you on vacation for a few minutes. Use 2 in 1 products, like body lotion for in the shower or shampoo and conditioner in one. You can stay in the shower just that little bit longer and come out pampered and well.

That’s what the morning is for. Make-up can take a long time and you want to look like a natural beauty. Buy products that help you achieve this quickly.  A good base and your look is half done, for example the BB cream by Garnier works wonders. Your skin is hydrated, it has SPF, it fades imperfections and does it all without having a thick layer on your face. A lick of mascara, a swipe of bronzer, some lip balm and you’re ready to go.

I assume the listed tips will save you loads of time so you still have some left time leftover for some me-time. My boyfriend runs laps every morning in the living room because he doesn’t know what to do with his me-time. I on the other hand enjoy this moment. I check out Instagram, Pinterest, illustrate something or leaf through magazines. Really a moment of rest that gives your day a relaxing start. Try not to do any work things. Keep the morning to yourself, the rest of the day will be busy enough.
