7 THINGS YOU WANT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE IN CHICAGO
Yesss, here’s one I owed you. Since my trip to Chicago with Icelandair was so unbelievably cool (check it all out right here) and you probably want to know where you can go to have the coolest view of the city and where you need to be to get your hands on the best pancakes.
So hereby, 7 of the coolest places:
1. Millennium Park
Without a doubt one of the coolest parks in the city. It’s got a bunch of cool little spots, fountains and an insane amount of green. The big eye-catcher in the park is the Cloud Gate, a silver art piece in the shape of a kidney bean which I stood in front of for at least 20 minutes taking a ridiculous amount of selfies.
Where? 201 E Randolph St., Chicago, IL 60602.
2. Little Goat Diner
This typical American diner with a Breakfast at Tiffany’s aura will be packed on any random Saturday at eight thirty with people stuffing themselves with American breakfasts. I highly recommend the blueberry pancakes and the ‘Fat Elvis Peanut Butter Waffles’.
Where? 820 W Randolph St., Chicago, IL 60607.
3. John Hancock Tower
For a killer view of the city you have to head to this 344 meter high skyscraper 100 stories high. An elevator will bring you to the top floor in rocket speed without you even noticing it. Oh, and on the 44th floor you’ll find one of the highest pools in the States. Perfect spot for Insta pics!
Where? 875 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60611.
4. Grace
Oké, let’s be fair: the odds of you being able to pay for this three Michelin star restaurant (500 dollars per person, yikes) aren’t too high. But it’s still worth dropping by to get a tour of the place and hear about the bizarre life story of the chef. Or you can just go to Netflix and what the documentary For Grace – but the real deal is always better.
Where? 652 W Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60661.
5. Architecture River Cruise
I don’t know what it is, but for some reason the prettiest photos are always made by boat. Might cost you about 40 bucks, but it does mean you get to spend an hour and half sailing through the city surrounded by the highest buildings you’ve ever seen.
Where? The most popular company for a boat trip is First Lady Cruises, They’re on the south western corner of the Michigan Avenue Bridge by Wacker Drive.
6. A cupcake from the Sprinkles ATM machine
Pink, glitter, cinnamon, red velvet, you know you want it. Make sure to check this out to know why it’s never a good idea to bring back Dunkin’ Donuts for the home front.
Where? 50 E Walton St, Chicago, IL 60611.
Damn it, I wish I could have written about at least one hundred cool things to do in Chicago, but unfortunately my press trip was too short to see more. Buttt, now that I’m in the Chicago vibe, plenty of reason for me to go back. And make it quick.
