HAIRSTYLES OF THE CELEBS
Just like Like May and Lies, I also love summaries, lists and everything that comes with it. I mean, how fun is it to put the past year in perspective. It's my honor to show you the beauty section. And since celebs never have trouble getting the scissors to their hair, while we think about it for weeks, (thank god to the hairextensions), I’ll start with the celebs who deserve praise for the look of 2014.
Where last year we saw pink and purple hairstyles make an appearance, the celebs are now opting for something simpler, something more minimalist and something easier. No more fuss with complicated cuts, but something that can easily be done at home in front of the mirror. Or, in the case of the celebs, done well by someone else.
I must admit that I have always found Taylor Swift's hair way too cool, and I only recently let the scissors into my locks when she switched to the Lob (long bob). Now she has a natural wave, which I have to work on with my curling iron, but I'll leave that point aside. It suits Taylor. It's tough, sexy, and rebellious at the same time.
With Reese, it’s always a bit of a toss-up. It’s either a bit nonchalant, or it’s immediately very chic. And that last one, she should actually always do. A side part, 1930s curls in it, and for the rest very neat and sleek. Then she shakes off that Legally Blonde image a bit more.
Jourdan also went for the bob this year and it really suits her very well. She started the year with the trend for bobs, lobs, and crops and she’s still on top of it. Incredibly feminine and her hair looks extremely healthy.
Jennifer has fortunately let her pixie cut grow out and left that rocky phase behind her. She also has a bob. Due to her face, it gets a classic touch, but wow, she can really pull it off.
If anyone has had a lot of looks this past year, it’s Beyonce. She started with tightly braided hair, then had the bob (which I personally thought was the prettiest look) and then she cut her bangs to a doll-length. That last one, not quite current. Long live the extensions, because by now everything is back on and she’s back to the Destiny Child look. Although she added a little twist to it, because it looks better on her than ever.
Badgirl Rihanna also always has those hairstyles that I can question, but on the red carpet, she once came with a classic ponytail. For a change. Sounds simple, but it’s not. It was extremely long and she wore bangs with it that made it classic, sexy, and very feminine. So Rihanna, I hope you’re reading this, because this one is worth repeating.
The time of the Spice Girls is really behind her now. Sporty spice is no more. Classy lady is. This look with long hair and perfect soft waves suits her so well. Oh and that shine, that shine. It does the trick.
