JOSSELIN’S BEAUTY BULLETIN

THE PARTY WEEK

This little column has been coming for a while, but every time I forgot to take photos during a special event, fun meeting, or package that I unwrapped, it got pushed back another week. But today I’m kicking it off. It was an incredibly cozy and festive week. Duly noted.

On Monday morning, I had a visit from Chrissy. Since she does PR for FS Agency, she has the honor of presenting brands like Tom Ford and Moroccan Oil to me. Seems like no punishment. Besides the fact that she always has the most beautiful brands in her bag, and also sported a stunning engagement ring on her finger, it’s also very pleasant. While she was telling me about the romantic proposal in Rio, 50 (yes!) different colors of Tom Ford lipsticks were displayed, all of which were truly beautiful. From nudes to bright pinks, from dark purple to a real silver color. I was lucky enough to choose one, but starting Monday, they can be yours too. And I’ll catch you up on the rest of all that beauty soon in the Tried & Tested columns.

This appointment has been bolded in my agenda for weeks. The party of the year is from Estée Lauder companies and this year it was in the Hallen. A cool location, but even cooler are the brands like Bobbi Brown, MAC Cosmetics, Clinique, Smashbox. and Estée Lauder themselves presenting all the launches of 2015. You listen with love because you have a glass of champagne in your hand and occasionally a tasty bite passes by. It’s a lot of kissing, of course you wish everyone a Merry Christmas, looking at a lot of beautiful things, and then lovingly receiving a goodie bag. And that goodie bag, well, that’s really a nice Christmas gift full of beauty.

Still reminiscing about the Estée party from yesterday, the day started a little bit nervously. This is the day of the Mercurs. You understand that I had already written a few things on Tuesday because I obviously couldn’t type a letter on, um, the MacBook that day. A nice distraction and nerve calmer was the presentation of CHANEL full of nouveautés. After May-Britt and I drove all over Amsterdam to find a parking spot, quite special because that sweet little Twingo takes up hardly any space, we arrived. All the ladies from CHANEL look absolutely stunning, dressed from head to toe in CHANEL, and that offers a warm welcome. I have to keep my lips sealed about the presentation for now, but there’s a lot of beauty coming.. Oe la la. After the presentation, we quickly headed to the Building. Did I say it was going to be a boring day? No. So you won’t hear me complain. The Building provided Jet, Liesbeth, and me with a glamorous hairstyle for the evening. With a can of hairspray from RedKen in the bag, we had to survive from the afternoon until the end of the evening. And we did. On Thursday morning, my hair was still va-va-voom, so that’s a nice bonus on a day-after.

The day started with some startup problems, for the reason I refer you to read this post, but the end of the day was delightful. Together with Iris Poldervaart I went through the plans of The Chair, a really cool platform by and for hairstylists. We made the best plans for the new year so that you will never have to deal with a bad-hair-day in 2015.

After a week full of parties, appointments, and occasionally typing some pieces for the site, I found today that should be spent in relax mode. On Sunday we have a lunch for our Amayzine correspondents, so some shopping still needs to be done, but with some nice creams and a little masks I managed to get through the day just fine.
