OLCAY GULSEN HOSTS A DINNER AND THEN THIS HAPPENS

When Olcay Gulsen invites you to a party, you know that a delicious cocktail awaits you (check), you eat divinely (check) and will be pampered (check).

Olcay doesn’t believe in half measures. This applies to doing business, expressing her opinion, buying bags (there was yet another Hermès showpiece on her arm), smoking cigarettes, and especially being incredibly smart, quick-thinking, sweet, and funny.

Last night she opened the door of her store on Leidsestraat for her close friends. A thank you dinner because she ‘wouldn’t have come this far without these people.’ Total nonsense of course, but hey, we all enjoy it immensely.

The editors-in-chief of JAN, Cosmopolitan, Grazia and Beau Monde and all the incredibly involved bloggers Lizzy van der Ligt, Yara Michels, Linda Tol, stylist Jetteke van Lexmond and fashion lovers Anna Drijver and Anouk Smulders.

We were greeted with Bellinis, the most delicious burrata that immediately took Anouk and me back to our summer in New York, a fall pasta with mushrooms and black truffle, and for dessert a tiramisu that was so good that we all at least ate half of it (it was big, you should know, and fashion people usually don’t ‘do’ dessert). The real treat was that we got to browse the store and choose ‘a look.’.

How pampered we were, there were quite a few people with red cheeks scouring the racks. “What are you taking?” “Does this suit me?” “Where is my stylist at moments like this?” Anna Drijver was a bit confused. “It’s too much, I don’t know what to choose.”

I left the place with a cool motorcycle pants in beautiful burgundy leather and a jacket that I will use as a dress and that I will show you tomorrow in the Look of the Day.

By the way, everything turned out just fine with Anna and her what-am-I-supposed-to-choose problem. And Olcay? She’s going to conquer the world. But you already knew that.
