What we would buy if we were very rich for a moment

Sure, we do discuss the Greater Things of Life here in the editorial office and have conversations about Difficult Things, but a large part of the day is spent on, uh, well, shoes, bags, and clothes. We call that professional deformation, others call it shopping addiction and materialism. We don't listen to those others because pff come on now and so I will share with you completely free of shame what we talked about this afternoon. “What if you suddenly had a lot of money and you could buy one thing. May-Brit: “The entire look of Gucci that Bette Franke is wearing on the cover of our magazine.”

Lies: “May, we were allowed to choose one thing.”
May: “Yeah well it's still one look.". So I would like the entire look. Because I have rarely become so greedy at a glance and because I think Frida Giannini knows how to combine sexy and femininity with business in one outfit like no other.”

Maud (marketing intern): “The Antigona Givenchy bag”

“Yes, that is my dream, for years. And yes, it is quite old but I don't care. It is classic and I can wear it anytime and anywhere. Two years ago I saw it in Antwerp and since then it has been haunting me. If I ever really have the money, I will definitely buy it.‘

Lisa (design intern): “The 2.55 from Chanel.”

“A classic of course, such a beautiful bag. And I want it. I want it now. Will I ever really buy it? Yes, of course. Definitely.”

Jet: “Either the Gucci Bamboo Bag or the Céline Trio Bag.”

“But actually also the Valentino Va Va Voom shoulder bag. My Marc Jacobs bag really can't be used anymore, that bag is completely worn out. I would like a good bag that can hold my laptop and that Gucci is perfect for that. Besides, you don't see it that often and I find Gucci a very chic brand. Furthermore, I have such a small going-out bag from €14.95 from H&M that I also can't be seen with anymore, so I would like to replace it with the Céline Trio Bag in red. Because black is so boring. But actually, right now that Valentino is at the top of my wish list. But oh wait shit I actually also want the Never Full from Louis Vuitton, the one with diamonds, and then I will use it as a sports bag.

Jet: “Yeah but if I have all these bags then it's perfect. Then I can die. Hmm but maybe that would be a shame if I just got my dream bags.”

Liesbeth: “The Givenchy Shark Lock Black Leather Knee Boot.”

“I have liked those for years and this week I had the brilliant idea to ‘just try them on’ at the Bijenkorf and now I really want them. I really hope that idea doesn't go through because they are so horrifically expensive, I don't even want to think about it. But for this winter, I am still looking for a perfect pair of boots in black leather and so far I haven't found a nicer one. Those Givenchy's are really my boots, they fit perfectly with my winter look: thick black tights, a skirt, and a big sweater or a tight skinny with also an oversized sweater, you can really picture me in that look. So yeah, those boots, they actually belong to me. Oh god help me.”
