A designer bag for the office
In our info@amayzine.com-mailbox We occasionally receive requests on a specific topic. For example, last week when a reader asked for advice on buying a designer bag that is also suitable for taking to the office. Look, I think that's a good question.
You should know, I'm also halfway through that process myself. As in, I'm very cautiously looking around for a bag that's big enough to carry my MacBook, but also looks a bit nice. Of course, I have my red Stella McCartney bag, but it can't close at the top and I noticed in New York that I don't really like that in a big city. Ideally, I want the Marc by Marc Classic Q Hillier Hobo, and then the huge variant. I have one in a small size and that's still the perfect bag, and once it was also available in large and that fits a laptop too. Once yes, because they are no longer being produced, god dammit. So the search continues, and for everyone looking for the same, this is what you should pay attention to when purchasing.
Size
It needs to be big enough for a laptop, a notebook, maybe a charger, tablet, and then all the other stuff that women carry around. So a hefty one, because you don't want the hassle of having to choose what to take with you to that important presentation, you need both a MacBook and an iPad and a notebook because you never know. Set aside an afternoon to go bag hunting and at least take your laptop with you, so you can try it on right away. Or measure everything and park yourself behind the web for an online shopping session.
Material
Opt for leather. It's the sturdiest, lasts the longest, and looks the neatest. Especially when you have to carry a lot, it should be a sturdy and strong specimen that won't break after a month.
Color
I'm usually all for colorful designer bags (they fit into my theory of matching with everything), but I think you should buy a business bag in a neutral color, especially when you work in a corporate world. Black is very boring, a nice dark blue or dark gray bag is tres chic.
Organization
Another downside of my Stella bag is that it's actually a kind of large shopper without compartments, so I'm always digging around for my stuff like an idiot and it becomes a big mess where I can't find anything. A good business bag really has a few compartments where you can put small handy things, so you don't have to go searching for your business cards or a pen like an unorganized scatterbrain.
Closure
Yes, it needs to close with a zipper or something else, but it definitely needs to be able to close. You have expensive items with you that you really don't want to lose, so make sure the chance of rolling out is minimal.
Handle
Choose a model that also has a shoulder strap, because if it's stuffed full of all your things, it's incredibly annoying and especially heavy if you have to carry it by the handle all the time. Many bags have optional shoulder straps, which you can remove if you don't need it on lighter days.
