Today a very well-known person in this column. Namely our own Liesbeth. You already know that she is a huge shoe addict, but when it comes to bags, she can also hold her own. Today we take a look inside her red Stella McCartney bag.

 Lies, how many designers are in your closet?

“Four. A Marc Jacobs, a Chloé, one from Proenza Schouler and this one from Stella.”

 And how did you get this one?

“I had wanted a bag that fits a laptop for a long time. I used to drag around a canvas bag, but I wanted something really nice. Then I saw this one.”

 I know you are quite indecisive when it comes to buying expensive items, how long did you hesitate about this?

“When it wasn’t on sale yet, I believe it was 700 euros, I really struggled with it. Yes, no, yes, no. But you understand that when I saw it for 80% percent in the webshop at Mayke , I immediately pressed checkout.”

 Your Proenza is kind of like a child to you, is your Stella that too?

“Well, I’m a lot less careful with this one. I just throw this one in my bike basket, which I would never do with Proenza, that one hangs on my handlebars or crossbody on my body. I actually see this bag as a practical bag and not as a bag-bag.”

 What about the contents? Are you just as chaotic as your desk looks (just kidding)?

“If you look at the bottom of this bag, I find things I didn’t even know were there. A lot. Of. Junk. I use a lot of different bags, so I often transfer stuff, so I’m always missing something.”

 And what things are always standard in your bag? Are you always prepared for adventure?

Ha-ha Jet.

“Of course the standard things like keys, my wallet, and my phone, but also always a makeup bag, because I usually do my makeup at the office. To do that early in the morning, no, I often don’t have time for that and I’m not in the mood. Also always a hand cream by the way (that’s now one of Molton Brown), my Chanel lip balm, a bank identifier, and my iPod earbuds. I can’t ride half a meter without music in my ears, otherwise I get grumpy.”

 What does a bag do for a woman?

“Aside from practical reasons because we don’t have pockets in our pants where we can fit everything, with a bag (especially a nice designer bag) you can instantly upgrade a boring outfit. Anyone who treats themselves to something so expensive is somewhat crazy, but it’s also very satisfying.”

And do you have another one on your wishlist? Or are you saving up to buy me the Gucci Bamboo Bag?

“Well, I don’t think so. I actually don’t have a wishlist right now. I’ve been hesitating for a very long time about buying the bags I have now. It seriously takes me half a year to buy a bag, even though I know it’s just perfect. I only buy a bag when I’m completely obsessed with it, and I don’t really have that right now. It’s actually a calming feeling.”
