ALWAYS MATCHES
It is difficult to find a person or an object that fits every situation in your life. For that reason, I have about twenty perfumes (of course, there is also a touch of professional deformation involved) because you want to smell different for an important business meeting than when you are having an intimate dinner with your loved one.
And for the same reason, you can never have enough shoes. And a surplus of bags is of course also a contradiction in terms. But cars, that's a different story. I truly believe there are people who have a sportier car for the weekend and one with a more businesslike appearance for during the week, but I don't know them.
“But cars, that's a different story.”
Cars are just a bit too expensive for that, and moreover, they fit a little less easily in my closet than Gucci pumps. But it is quite difficult to find a car that serves me in all aspects of my diverse life.
When I drive through the funnel called the Amsterdam city center to pick up all my trophies at the best shoemaker in the city and dash over to Gelderlandplein for the vegetable chips from Sissy-Boy (a person can have their quirks), I wish my vehicle to be as compact as possible. Without it becoming a ladies' car, of course, never that. But when I put my three girls in the back seat and floor it (well, that happened once), racing over the bumpy gravel road to the Bentveld riding school, I wish for a sturdy jeep. And in all cases, in a nice outfit that also somewhat matches every situation in terms of color.
“The Renault Captur. It has everything.”
So I thought this was an impossible wish until I received a new car on loan from our friends at Renault. The Renault Captur. It has everything. The boys in my oldest daughter's class think it's too cool and urge their mothers to buy such a car, the girls in the editorial office find it cute and are huge fans of the spacious interior and the short turning radius, and I am especially very happy with the handy trunk with a double flap that allows you to transport both eggs and firewood and your freshly steamed pleated skirt from Patrizia Pepe.
And it also has such a nice two-tone version, in my case with a red jacket and a black roof, making it fit in every environment.
Dear people at Renault, did I already mention that I really won't give this back?
