Benefits of daylight saving time.
They are here!
Yes people, daylight saving time has started again. That means your clock goes forward an hour. That is because in the summer the sun rises earlier. By moving the clock forward, the period of daylight and the period that people are awake are most aligned. Otherwise, it gets light at night, you understand? For many, a deep sigh, because that also means your alarm goes off earlier. And it goes off so early every morning. Babies find it quite strange and anyway, we also walk around a bit tired the first week, because we just can't get used to it. Farmers (sorry, I've been quite into Farmer Wants a Wife lately) also go completely crazy, because their lovely cows don't participate in the changes and just keep sleeping, and at the time they want to eat, it’s actually not time yet and so on.
Okay, enough whining, because there are certainly also benefits and I will share those with you and I hope that you look at it a little less gloomily than before.
– Daylight saving time. The name says it all. It’s becoming summer. Yay!
– Think of longer light, so long summer evenings.
– More sun in a day and that means vitamin D, you know, that happiness vitamin.
– You consume less electricity because you have fewer lights on. You also watch less television because you are outside more. Saves you a little bill.
– Liesbeth always finds it very nice that all her clocks are right again since she doesn’t change her clock when winter time starts. Okay, Lies.
– For the men among us, maybe a huge advantage that there is more skin seen on the streets. Never annoying, right?
