This is what I think of May's eat & fit diary
“Jet, in two weeks the recordings of Holland's Next Top Model will start again and I want to be a bit fit for that, how do I approach this?”
“Well, that's very simple May, no alcohol and go to bed on time.”
“Ouch, that's going to be difficult with three kids, still quite a few events on the agenda and well, a little glass in the evening is exactly what helps me relax a bit.”
“Yes May, just do it, you'll see it makes a difference.”
Alright, May got to work and texted me dutifully when she had swapped the ginger tea for the chardonnay. See, May, it works? And if you just remember that it's something temporary and that you really can't touch a grape forever, it's a lot easier. I understand that it's quite boring when the other person can have a glass, and by the way, that's also a shame for him, but that just has to be accepted for a while. To soften the pain a bit, you can pour a nice sparkling water into a wine glass, add a slice of lime and it already looks like a lot. You're still participating a little bit.
I am proud of you, May. Anyway, I think your breakfast is already impressive, because often enough the girls' hair braiding takes precedence over the yogurt. By the way, you can also enjoy a dollop of Greek yogurt or French quark instead of low-fat yogurt, that fills much more and contains no sugar. Maybe you can add a bit of fruit too. Your breakfast must be nutritious enough, because it's the start of your day and if that goes well, you have less chance of snacking throughout the rest of the day.
Furthermore, I would take an extra rice cake for lunch, because this seems quite little to me. You do make little cakes, right?
Then I would love to stuff a lot of (healthy) snacks in your bag. Raw bars, energy bars, green bars, I don't know what, because an apple, well... I would really faint from hunger (we always say hunger in the editorial office instead of hunger, don't ask me why).
’In the evening, I would love to slide up to your table and please dip a piece of bread in the gravy more often, because come on, it has to stay fun, right?
And people, have you heard? May has really gotten into sports. A body shape class or a circuit with weights and such. So up early for her work (where she finds the time, I think it's impressive), so this week very healthy cheeks came into the editorial office. If you're tired, feel weak, just don't feel good or whatever, then exercising is the medicine. Good for your mind, body, mood, everything.
And then I have here another post that is handy when you also want to become just a bit sharper and fitter in a short time. And put ‘go to bed on time’ above that.
