How to make the tastiest sangria
My love for Jamie (Oliver of course) is incredibly big. If I have something in my mind that I want to make, I first check if Jamie already has a recipe somewhere. Most of the time he does. So also with a pitcher of sangria that I brewed for friends on a summery day. Note: you can drink an incredible amount of this (so delicious), but it also causes a mega mega hangover. You are a real diehard if you go jogging the next day, because then you run that headache out in one go.
(for about 6 people)
What do you need and how do you make it (don't be shocked by the long ingredient list, Jamie knows what he's doing):
– A piece of watermelon (just a large slice) cut into small cubes
– Juice of half a lime
– 1 lime for slices on the rim
– 10 ml ginger syrup
– 60 ml white Bacardi
– Prosecco
– Gecrushed ijs
Put in a large pitcher 3 cubes of watermelon and mash them flat. I did that with a ladle. Then stir in the lime juice, ginger syrup, the remaining pieces of watermelon, and the rum. After that, fill the whole pitcher with crushed ice and top it off with a few good splashes of prosecco. Stir everything well again and pour the drink into glasses. Tadaaa, nice lime on the rim of the glass and cheers!
