BAKING TECHNIQUE
– Everything for a flawless skin –
There is a new trend in makeup land with which you can create a vavavoom flawless skin without any trace of a wrinkle or blemish. I think we all have our ears perked up for the perfect skin, so bring it on…
Baking has been a trend for some time now, Kim Kardashian for example, it is heavily powdered with this technique. It is also widely used by Drag Queens. Now you might be thinking, where is this going, will this ever become a flawless face? It can, it can. The whole idea of baking is just like putting a normal cupcake in the oven. You have already mixed and used the basic ingredients, but the oven warms it up and ensures that it stays fresh for a few days and makes it all just a bit tastier.
So, what is it? Actually, you can see baking as a kind of finishing of your makeup. First, you neatly apply your foundation and all the other liquid products, and then you go generously, and by generously I mean really generously, with the translucent powder. After ten minutes, during which it gets the chance to ‘bind to the skin’ due to the heat, you wipe away the excess powder with a large powder brush. The rest has set, and thus the makeup has no chance of going wrong. It is especially used to work away dark circles under the eyes and to make it look like there are no wrinkles present is. Take a look at this sentence. It sounds difficult, I get it. So here it is: in five steps how to apply this all and how to create the perfect flawless face.
Wink
Moisturize the skin under your eyes very well. It is already such a thin skin, so you quickly see fine lines, wrinkles, or dry spots. You don't want that, of course.
Concealer squared
You can apply concealer quite thickly. Preferably choose one a concealer that is also quite thick and covering in texture. If you have hydrated it well beforehand, the concealer will be applied very evenly and you will wipe away all the dark spots under your eyes. Normally, everyone is quite afraid of a heavy concealer, but if you have hydrated well, it will become a very nice even base.
Use more
Just at the point where you think, this is really a shit-load of concealer, you add just a little bit more. You can use even more. A second layer sets the first. You can blend it beautifully with a sponge, making it one layer, but at the same time, it remains very even. Yes really, just go for it.
is applied with a large brush. Preferably as large as possible. You want to lay a kind of layer on the skin to fix the foundation, which is not visible. By using a large brush, you apply the powder evenly and it doesn't accumulate in certain spots.
Well, there you go. Use a brush to apply the translucent powder. It can be applied quite generously over the concealer to set the base well.
Bak het!
After a few minutes, take a sponge that you dip a little in the setting spray. Then dip it generously in the translucent powder and powder this ‘mixture’ over the areas where you have already applied your concealer. Press it nicely into the skin and let it sit for five to ten minutes.
Wipe it away
You take the large powder brush again and wipe everything away. Half will be set, and the other half you wipe away.
I understand that it all seems a bit tricky. I myself am still in the huge practice phase. Fortunately, vlogger and makeup artist Heidi Hamoud has put her face in the mix to make it clear to us in a video. Watch and learn.
