Today we introduce you to our Jessica van Houten. As an account manager at Iconic Studios, her sense of style was an incredible asset. Jessica regularly dazzled us with her intense and immensely large Boy bag from Chanel.

Jessica. Wait. How does a young woman like you get such a bag?

Years ago, I saw it for the first time on a blog and I fell in love immediately. I had always been a fan of the iconic model, but I found it just a bit too classic for me. The Boy bag is tough and it has a chunkier chain.

When I turned 25, it was time. I treated myself to it. My boyfriend and I went to the P.C. Hooftstraat but unfortunately, it was sold out. Luckily, I received a call a few weeks later. I could come and see the bag by appointment. Of course, I took it right away. A funny detail was that the staff had set the bag aside for ‘Rapunzel’ because of my long hair.

And when you finally bought it, was it a celebration? Did you get a glass of champagne?

Unfortunately, no champagne. Although I needed more no champagne with my baby in my hand.

Do you have more (designer) bags?

No, but this Boy is the start. Although the bag is not for everyday use, of course. I often wear my black and white canvas bags from BLK DNM and Won Hundred as well.

You work in PR. A designer bag is kind of part of your standard equipment, right?

At an Iconic event, I am almost always dressed in black. My Chanel gives the outfit the right upgrade.

What does a bag do for a woman in your opinion?

A bag completes a look. The best would be if you had a nice designer bag for every day of the week.

Are you a bit careful with the bag or do you sometimes throw it in the corner?

In the beginning, I am always careful with new things. Now (after a few months), I am less so. When I bought it, I was told exactly how to handle the bag. Back in the box when I’m not wearing it was one of the rules.

And what about the contents? Are you a chaotic person or neatly organized?

With this bag, it doesn't matter how the contents are arranged, as there isn't much that can fit in it. I do make sure that it doesn't get overstuffed, that's just not done.

What do you always carry in your bag?

Perfume, lipstick, a mirror, debit card, ID card, and keys.

If a woman could only have one bag, which would it be?

A black Chanel (Boy bag) of course.

Do you prefer trendy or classic?

A bag should match your outfit. With a beautiful evening dress I would go for a more elegant small clutch. While I am more tough myself. This bag is the right mix of trendy and classic for me.

Should a bag also be practical?

I don't care about that. If it's not practical and I find it beautiful, I'll buy it anyway.

And lastly, is there another one on your wishlist? Which one?

Not at the moment. For the coming years, I am 1000% happy with this bag.
