may I introduce myself? my new love.
As you know, May and I were in Milan for three days last week. On the agenda were appointments with all beautiful brands, to make plans for world domination and other fun things. In between, there was also plenty of sunny and liquid lunches, so don't worry about that. The last appointment of our tour was in the showroom of Blumarine and Blugirl, and there, the slonk really added up.
Blumarine was founded in 1977 by Anna Molinari and her husband Gianpaolo Tarabini, and in 1995 Blugirl was added. Blumarine is the main brand, Blugirl focuses on the younger woman, and in the showroom, I went completely wild over the Blugirl racks while May was spinning around the Blumarine racks. The large white showroom with high ceilings and chandeliers was the backdrop for the latest F/W 2015 collection. Short white dresses with bombastic floral prints and sleeves adorned with rhinestones, floor-length pleated skirts made of heavy material from the ’70s, lace see-through dresses and dresses so shiny with beads and sequins that every magpie would become very hungry for them. It was truly love at first sight, with every piece.
The very nice PR people from Karla Otto walk us through the racks and I have to restrain myself from asking to try on every piece. Although, with that pizza from last night still good in my stomach, I probably would never get squeezed into those samples anyway, but who cares.
At farewell, we receive a small gift that later turned out to be a beautiful scarf, which now hangs on my Chloé bag and makes me incredibly happy. We exchange cards and make plans for the upcoming fashion week in Milan, and I can tell you, Blumarine, Blugirl, and I are going to become very good friends. Mark my words.
