Why we love gel polish

Two weeks of enjoyment

Gel polish lasts on a healthy nail for about two weeks. So no fussing with touch-ups in the car or behind your desk (find another work-avoiding behavior), just fourteen days of good-looking nails. Yay.

Quick drying

My impatience sometimes gets the best of me. If I don't get my glass of wine within five minutes, I get grumpy. Very exaggerated, I know. Doing my nails myself is therefore a lost cause for me. I can probably carefully take that one little thing out of my bag. Not really. With gel polish, a UV lamp is used, which means your hands are dry in no time.

No damage

All nice and well, but we want to be gentle on the nails by damaging them as little as possible. The nice thing about gel polish is that the nail bed doesn't have to be completely filed down (which happens with artificial nails). The nail must be cleaned very well, but the top layer remains intact. A manicure preparation is therefore necessary, but it only makes the nail happier.

Also at home

I completely understand that not everyone always has time to go to a salon. That's why there are now gel polishes for home use. For example, Essence has a home kit with a lamp, available at Kruidvat. VINYLUX is the home polish from CND, for which you don't even need a lamp. They dry on their own, and when your nails come into contact with sunlight, they get harder and harder. Handy, right?.
