I have been busy all week for one of the most exciting weekends of the summer: my big sister's wedding. Now, I wrote earlier that I had forgotten the civil marriage (really, just read it here). This weekend is the big party, for which I have been dubbed the chief decorator as the maid of honor – lovely word. You understand that I can make up for my earlier mistake immensely with this. From the styling of the bride and groom to rolling out the ‘festival’ theme: all my responsibility. Yeah.

As the chief decorator, I naturally can't forget about myself. But if you know me by now, that will never happen. I will shine just enough as the ‘little sister’, but it’s all about the bride, of course.

I checked in advance with my sister which colors she likes, and she is very fond of pink. So I will base my entire look on that. I am doing my makeup with the beautiful purple/pink palette from M.A.C and I don't need a makeup artist since I recently learned the fine points of makeup artist Flavio I’m going for a subtle soft pink lipstick from Chanel, which I know lasts for a few hours but doesn’t dry out my lips. I need it to last all day and I think it’s nice to apply a subtle highlighter. The Pastel Pink from Bobbi Brown is a blush and highlighter with a subtle glitter in one. And it fits easily in my clutch, which is no unnecessary luxury.

For me, braids and updos belong at a wedding. So I’m making a loose braid on both sides that I will add to my bun. Very easy to make and with an updo, I’m sure it will last all day (loose hair falls out faster).

Actually, I want to go completely loco with my nails, but since my sister is a lot more traditional, I want hands that she also finds beautiful. Therefore, I choose a nude color from O.P.I (color Do You Take Lei Away).

I have known for months what I am going to wear because I have two dresses hanging in my closet that I always knew: these are for a special occasion. The China dress from Ted Baker is very suitable for daytime because of the soft pink color (I think wearing white to a wedding is not done) and I think it’s nice to wear a long dress as a witness (which I am). A little standing out is allowed. Below, I’m wearing simple. nude-colored heels from River Island.

. These shoes were chosen very deliberately because I practiced with different heels (very important) and I had no trouble with my feet from these. Sophia Webster. Of course, I will change for the evening festivities. About two years ago, I stumbled upon a beautiful Dsquared2 pink strapless dress in an outlet. Then it hung desolately in my closet, but tomorrow I will dance in it until the late hours. Together with my watermelon shoes from.

. I can’t think of a happier dance shoe.
