10 X SURPRISING SOMEONE ELSE WITH SOMETHING SMALL IN DECEMBER
(and no, it doesn't have to cost a lot of money...)
Think of someone else. And especially, eh, less about yourself. I already wrote about it here . Especially in December, the month where it EXTRA revolves around coziness, peace on earth, and love for your loved ones. So be a little extra nice to your boy, fling, that sweet friend, and your mom.
And gosh, everything is already expensive enough this month, so a few cheap options to the rescue that will definitely put a smile on his/her face are always welcome, right?
1. Prepare a surprise dinner
Come on, this always works, right? When you arrive at someone's home and they have spent extra time in the kitchen to whip up something delicious for you, that's just TOP?
P.S.: it has double impact if you set the table in a wonderfully nice way.
2. Write something sweet on the mirror
This is for the love material category, of course. Every time your lover takes a shower, your little love note appears again.
3. A pampering night for the girls
Get everything your friend, sister, or mom likes, set up her favorite movies, and bring on the wine.
4. Write a letter to your dearest friends
And then send it old school, of course. I mean: for a reason cliché, right; everyone loves this.
5. Post-its
The only thing this costs you is time. And a good mood, because damn, that stuff takes a LONG time. But otherwise, of course, brilliant and very film-worthy to decorate an entire room (or okay, a part of a room) with sweet words and phrases on post-its.
6. A mini-speech to your loved ones
I just think that's really cool. And amazing if someone does that for you.
“Come on, hug that thing!”
7. A voice memo with an ode to your parents
In real life, of course, it's even cooler (see point 6), but if that feels a bit too confronting, first write down everything you want to say and then record it in a voice memo. They'll cry, I bet?
8. Surprise your boy/girl at work
Do you know your lover has a long, important day at work? Then it’s really sweet to hop in the car/taxi/or bike and pick that person up, right? I would love that, at least.
9. Craft a little video
Ha, I have the ultimate tip for that. Quik! A super easy app that lets you stitch together a bunch of video clips with a nice tune in no time. Editing has never been so easy.
10. And maybe the easiest and MOST wonderful of all...
A long hug. Because people hug way too little. But do you know how stress-relieving, chill, and relaxed you become from a good hug? Just saying. Maybe you do that best with your love, but what about your mom? Come on, hug that thing!
