12 X WHY RENSKE IS FASCINATED BY THE (LONG) VELVET BLAZER

Yesterday I bought a great long, black velvet blazer at Jutka & Riska on Haarlemmerdijk in Amsterdam. Or actually, it's more like a kind of coat, but for indoors. Unless, of course, we are in the double digits temperature-wise, but unfortunately, we are not.

Okay, then I will now tell you why I bought a velvet blazer diagonal stripe coat. And grab your wallet because after reading all these points, you will definitely want to buy a velvet blazer diagonal stripe coat too.

1. A velvet blazer looks incredibly chic, no matter what you have underneath. And I can know this because I have tried it all myself. Is it a T-shirt? Is it a thin sweater? Is it a lace top? Is it that ugly crocheted sweater from grandma that you never dare to wear because it is horrifically ugly as mentioned, but you just can't throw it away because she specially crocheted it for you with her good behavior? It doesn't matter! You just throw a velvet blazer over it and you're done.

2. You would think that you can only wear velvet at Christmas, but that's not true. Sure, it might have been that way in the past, but not anymore. Tssss, under which rock have you been lying!? You can wear velvet any day of the week. In the evening and during the day.

3. A velvet blazer looks good with your velvet shoes, which you probably already have. And if you don't have them yet, then you will of course buy them quickly. Which is also a good reason to quickly get a velvet blazer, because then you may read must also get velvet shoes to go with it. I say, what a smart person I am and maybe a bit opportunistic, but aren't we all a little bit?

coat.”

4. With a velvet blazer, you look like a celebrity because they wear velvet blazers these days.

5. And even if you don't necessarily look like a celeb, at least you tried. It keeps you off the streets, shall we say.

6. A velvet blazer pairs perfectly with high jeans with Gucci belt. So now you have another reason to buy a Gucci belt. No thanks needed!

7. When we eventually get into the double digits weather-wise, I think somewhere in freaking April or so, you can just wear the velvet blazer as a coat. And that way, even more people can enjoy your velvet coat. Good, right?.

That was it. Enjoy your velvet blazer!

And no, I'm not going to buy it for you if you sometimes think that, but a good tip now and then is also worth something, I think.
