5 HAIRSTYLES YOU'VE DEFINITELY TRIED IN YOUR LIFE

And that have either gone horribly wrong or turned out great

I find it terrible to see photos from the past. I had no idea what to do with a fringe, my eyebrows were over-plucked and I also thought that silver eyeshadow was a good idea. But my hair, it has gone through about three hundred and eighty transformations. I had it burgundy (a rinse, thank god), I tried a bob, side bangs, straight bangs, a mix of both bangs, and who knows what else. And besides visits to the hairdresser, I also loved to use the curling iron or waffle iron or just have an incredibly bad night’s sleep with curlers in my hair. Well. You can be sure that you too have committed to the hairstyles in the list below.

A color

Since it was pretty cool to dye your hair in high school, I decided to do that too. Luckily, I could really only go for a rinse, because my mother was very strict about colors. I started with mahogany, then it became red; I actually went through life as a ginger. Now I have learned what doesn’t suit me (although it here went a bit wrong for a while) and thanks to all that experimenting, I have really found my favorite hairstyle.

A fringe

I have a love-hate relationship with it. I am an incredible fan, but sometimes a fringe is just not that practical. But definitely, almost everyone has tried it. And you’re right, because it can really turn out well.

Curls

We have had the curling iron in our hands quite often. Even with the curlers, we had enthusiastic nights. As a result, you woke up with an Annie hairstyle and also forgot to comb it out neatly.

The bob

I still remember like it was yesterday that I went to the hairdresser to get my ends trimmed, but came home with a bob. A drastic bob. Back then, they didn’t know the long bob yet, so that bob was really cut above my earlobe. Crying. Tears streaming down. And then I had a doll's head. The advantage is that I have become very good with bobby pins and headbands AND that I know I will never let myself get a bob again.

Highlights

Now highlights are really incredibly beautiful and look sun-kissed (hairdressers have learned their lesson), but back then, they were really strips that you had on your head. Seriously. Those white streaks that had no gradation whatsoever or any link with the rest of your hairstyle. We have learned from that too. Back then, those stripes were très cool (especially combined with a nude lip and heavily defined brows, preferably as thin as possible plucked), but now you’d better hold on to the opposite picture.
