AUTUMN SKIN

This is how you enter autumn in the best way

Last week, it really became autumn in one fell swoop. We thought we could still enjoy a bit of an Indian Summer, but now it’s just completely over. I noticed this not only from the dreadful rain showers this weekend but also from my skin. Everything is parched and dry, that tiny spark of color that I still had in my face was immediately wiped away and my lips started to peel. Hello autumn! Nice to have you back. But this time you are not going to take over my life. This time I’m ahead of you.

1. Always that SPF. Always.

If you think the sun only shines in the summer months, then you really come from an alien planet. The sun always shines. So even when you’re taking a walk in the woods and the sun is peeking through the trees, and even when you’re racing through the city on your bike. So always apply a good SPF, because radiation is always present and always affects your skin.

2. Restore the skin

The skin really needs to recover a bit from the summer. It makes sense, because during that time you naturally had your nose in the sun every moment of the day, and as a result, your skin has endured quite a bit. How do you see that? Dark spots on the skin from over-pigmentation and some extra wrinkles here and there. In autumn, the color fades, but the wrinkles and spots remain, and as a result, you might look a few years older. Use products that contain retinol for a good boost and products that wipe away the dark spots.

“Hello autumn!”

3. Dry skin

It’s getting a few degrees cooler outside, so your skin also becomes a lot drier. You often notice this first on your forehead and chin. Now, of course, you must keep applying day and night cream, but it’s also very important to stick to a good skincare routine. Proper cleansing ensures that your skin doesn’t dry out further, and a mask is certainly not an unnecessary luxury. If you really notice that your skin is too dry, you can always switch to oil. It gives an extra hydration boost.

4. Bring your hands along

Got a drop of oil or cream left? Make sure to apply it well to your hands. Preferably a few times a day. Your hands endure a lot in a day. And then there’s the fact that hands reveal your age if you don’t take good care of them. So apply, because you don’t want to spend your whole life wearing a pair of gloves.

5. Color

Your skin immediately loses its color. You might have built up such a nice tan during the summer, but you lose that in just a few days. In autumn, blood circulation is also a bit less, which can make the skin look duller. Now, it’s quite unnatural to powder with heavy bronzers, and a tanning bed is really a no-go, but a facial massage solves it. It stimulates the blood circulation again and the color will naturally return to your face.
