DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO HURRY?
then you will start to organize your life differently from now on
My alarm goes off an hour earlier than I need to leave the house. Nice to wake up tranquilo, rub the sleep out of my microscopically small morning eyes, and hop in the shower. How the hell do I manage to always be in a hurry?
80 percent of the people I know have a chronic shortage of time. Always ‘busy’, always ‘in a hurry’. The other 20 percent have either had a burnout and have since gotten their life back on track, are yoga instructors, or are lifestyle bloggers who write about spirituality and happiness. I envy that 20 percent. I also want to be part of the non-hurried totally-in-control 20 percent. Do you too? Then engrave this sentence in your mind, especially in the morning: hurry when you have time, then you have time when you are in a hurry. Mmm, some wise sayings are not so bad after all. Not feeling it yet? Then read the tips below:
Schedule that Insta moment
If you -like me- still have to do your Insta, Facebook, and email rounds in the morning before your body can even function: fine. But then just set your alarm a quarter of an hour earlier if you don't want to rush through the house like a panicked whirlwind.
Lay out your clothes (yes-haa, we know that by now)
But still, I might only do it two days a week. And just on those two days, my day actually starts off super smooth. Get this into your system and your life will get better. Really. Truly.
For the public transport users among us
If you don't have one yet, get that personal OV-chipkaart for €7.50, because that automatic recharge function is HEAVENLY. Never miss the train again because that stupid card is empty.
Pack your bag
If you already know in advance that you want to take that other bag tomorrow, it's a small effort to throw all your daily stuff in there. Hoppa.
Start the day actively
A tip from Jet, who gets out of bed a little earlier almost every morning to sweat in the gym or go for a run. After that, you stay in that active fresh vibe, which helps you execute your daily morning routine faster. What do you mean, you don't have time to exercise?
Don't. Make. Too. Many. Appointments.
In a world of ‘I have to do this, that, go here, go there’, it can be hard not to drown in your appointments. But come on, we all know that you create your own hurry, right? Don't fill your day so full that there is SOME time between your appointments.
Only in case of pure emergency; take a cab
For the little mini trip to Amayzine, I really get laughed at hard when I take a taxi. But still, taxis are (outside of rush hours) the solution to all your hurry problems. Touch up in the taxi, have breakfast (just ask if you can devour that apple or muesli bar first), type out half an article on your phone: it can all be done.
