MASKERADE
The best face masks come from your kitchen cupboard
It is an ultimate me-time moment and if you ever plan those girls' nights, you know what you need to do: make a mask. This used to be a standard activity when I would chill with my friends. Masks (preferably those extremely brightly colored ones, because they looked better in photos), then a lovely romcom and loads of chips. That mask. Not only super fun and great material for Instagram, but also very good for the skin. Although I wasn't really aware of that back then, I know better now. Sometimes my skin actually screams for a good face mask. It can also just come from the kitchen cupboard, those ingredients.
The famous honey-and-yogurt mask
Ingredients: one teaspoon of honey and one teaspoon of yogurt
For whom? Anyone can apply this mask to their face. It is nourishing and suitable for all skin types. If you remove it after a quarter of an hour, your skin will be extremely soft and shiny.
Here's how to make it: Mix that teaspoon of honey with the teaspoon of yogurt. If you have dry skin, add another drop of honey. Do you have oily skin? Then add a few drops of lime juice to the mask. Lime has a drying effect on the skin, so it will absorb the oil (very handy if you're going out later, because then you really have beautiful skin without shine).
The refreshing cucumber effect
Ingredients: a quarter of a peeled cucumber, a teaspoon of honey, and a drop of yogurt
For whom? For anyone who needs a little relaxation. Or, if you have dull skin (which can be due to fatigue), this is the way to brighten up your complexion a bit.
Here's how to make it: Put the cucumber and honey in the blender and let it blend nicely. If it's too thin from the cucumber's water, add some yogurt. Done. Apply to your face, let it sit for a quarter of an hour, and rinse off with cold water.
Banana girl
Ingredients: seems clear to me. Banaaaaaan of course. But to make a good fruit blend, you can add some orange and a drop of honey. Honey always works well.
For whom? Ladies with dry skin will be very happy with this. It softens your face and is moisturizing. Handy to combat fine lines.
Here's how to make it: Mash the banana and mix in the honey (a teaspoon is enough). Orange is also nice to add for the vitamin C. Squeeze that mixture.
Say goodbye to impure skin
Ingredients: three carrots and three tablespoons of honey
For whom? If you suffer from impure skin, this mask works like a charm. I won't say that all impurities will disappear from your skin as soon as you rinse off the mask, but it will definitely work.
Here's how to make it: Boil the carrots and puree them. Then mix it with the honey until it becomes a sticky substance that you can easily apply to the skin. Wait fifteen minutes and you'll have a calmer skin that is at least very clean.
For all sun worshippers
Ingredients: one cup of yogurt (preferably as cold as possible), four tablespoons of oatmeal, and a quarter cucumber
For whom? For anyone who has just a bit too long had their nose in the sun and thus has a bright red skin. Not very nice. Your skin needs rest, and you give that by applying a mask.
Here's how to make it: Mix all the ingredients together. You can do this in the blender, because then you can be sure that the cucumber is nice and smooth. You only need the egg white from the egg. Leave out the yolk.
